These are my fav potatoes.

Thank you

They are lovely! We buy them from the greengrocer's for 6.50/ 25kg bag (and then sell extra to friends). These keep well.

They are also 2 for £2.00 at Tesco at the moment - these are sooooooooooooooo good for mash, the best mash in the world :D
#7
Brill potatoes, probably the best

Definately the best potatoes for roasting these...However I would be wary of the Lidl offer because when they've sold them at this price before the potatoes in the bag have tended to be tiny ie ones that would not normally be sold as they were too small. On that basis I would say the Tesco deal was better as presume these are "normal" bags and therefore decent sized potoatoes....

Just feel the size of the spuds in the bag (does that sound rude?).

If you're buying them for mash, it doesn't really matter what size they are; you're still getting 2 kg of potatoes.

I wouldn't use Roosters for mash as they are a very soft potato and tend to break up very quickly during boiling and turn into mush, especially so the smaller ones. I buy Roosters purely for roasting and cheaper ordinary white potoatoes for mash/everyday use etc.

Roosters are great for mash, super delicious and with a distinct flavour. And I wouldn't call them soft at all - I work in a greengrocer's, so work with potatoes all the time! :) Roosters are a good all-rounder, like English Maris Pipers (but not Scottish, now those are softer).
