2p off Fuel - pay no more than 136.7p for Petrol/ 141.7p for Diesel @ Asda

nicster08nicster08

From (Friday 4th May) you will pay no more than 136.7p per litre for unleaded and 141.7p per litre for diesel at Asda.

We’re leading the way in passing on the savings from a drop in global oil prices. It’s our second price drop on fuel in three weeks and should be good news for hard-pressed motorists throughout the UK.

Unlike other retailers we do everything we can to reduce prices for all of our customers wherever you live.

Research taken from PetrolPrices.com shows that some retailers are getting away with charging up to 147.9p per litre for unleaded and 151.9p per litre for diesel in towns without an Asda nearby.

    ARE YOU PEOPLE INSANE???

If I filled my car from empty (48ltrs) with this deal, I'd save... wait for it...

    DRUM ROLL

    TRUMPETS

The almighty sum of .... £1.54

You people are bonkers. Even a penniless tramp wouldn't leave his cardboard box for that.

I THINK YOU'VE GOT YOUR SUMS WRONG ...

    DRUM ROLL AGAIN ..... 96p !!

No, I haven't got my sums wrong! My local garage sells at 139.9p. I also worked out the 96p Asda saving, but I don't fill up at Asda. In fact, 96p makes it EVEN WORSE.

    NEXT!!!

    I'M WAITING...............

oh ok well it depends on how much fuel you consume going to asda then.. my bad

With the oil price coming down over 10% in recent weeks we should be looking at another 2-3p off very soon. Oil is now $112 a barrel, it was $128.also the pound is stronger against the dollar than it was.
Fair play to asda for still doing national pricing, unlike the other supermarkets. They always start the reduction in price but like I say it's too small a reduction. 134.9/139.9 should have been the drop,

If you have an Asda Master Card, you can get a further 1p. off every litre off fuel. But according to Timmys_Ticklestick outlook, it's hardly worth it to save an extra 77p, is it? That would mean a saving of £2.31 off his tank full. Mmm, I wonder what the penniless tramp would think of this amount?

I think it would be worthwhile driving continuously around the block until you are running on fumes just so you can take advantage of this super-hot deal and get even more litres in the car!

    Errm...

Would people prefer if the price went up? Saying 'oh its only costing me another £1 a tank!'.

They won't ever bring the prices down more than 2/5p a litre at a time, otherwise people will freak out and panic buy in case they put the price back up.

Any reduction in price of petrol is a step in the right direction, after it going up and up, if it starts to go down, even by 2p, thats better than it going up!

No, it's a fair point. But I don't think it's the deal of the century either, and it's just a temporary respite until it goes up again, so you'll have to excuse me not filling a boswer up.

Bring back the tescos 5 p off - using 3 at a time any buying them off the bay of E saved me loads. I particularly liked the day local tescos cashier was moody and asked where I got these vouchers from begrudingly giving me the discount !!!

I fill my car up at least once of twice a week so getting the best price on fuel matters! It may only be £1.50 per fill but for me that will be over £100 per year!

Were currently paying about 96p per litre for ours and even that seems expensive, it really does amaze me how much we get taxed in the UK on fuel.

I`m currently overseas and not looking forward to filling up when I get back.

It's a typical price fixing cycle. There are no genuine independent petrol stations any more. There are no genuine independent supermarkets anymore. They're all owned by the same umbrella company if you look high enough up the chain. It gives the consumer the illusion of competition and choice. It's the same story every year - Talk about a fuel crisis/shortage with no evidence or proof, put prices up a bit at a time until the public start to get fed up, knock the price down by a fraction of the total recent increases and everyone is happy for another 6 months, then the whole things starts again. Same with energy company's, phone company's, internet providers etc. etc. I will predict the future and say around this time next year there will be a thread about a supermarket dropping their price to under £1.50 a litre.

The only real choice we have is to just pay the extra £1 a tank every few months or get on your bike.

Only if prices stay the same for the next 12 months. It's pointless working out how much this will save you over a year when the prices nationwide will start to go up again in a few weeks and a different supermarket will have the "best deal". Are you always going to spend the time and fuel driving to the one that saves you a few pence per fill?

supposed to be going up in august by 5p per litre anyway, Thanks Cameron and Osborne, i've just been to my local asda and it was NOT 136.7 but 138.9p so dont know whats going on there.
Petrol prices should have never gotten higher than £1.20 a litre in my book, higher price in fuel = higher price in foods, clothing, etc, FACT, companies have to pay for it somehow. just look at the price of stamps bets thats 1 reason why its so expensive to send anything by post these days.

When I went to Lanzarote last week it worked out at about 90p a litre for unleaded. You'd think the price would be higher, what with it being an island (Increased costs to transport it there)

Filled this morning. Instant £0.65 savings compared to my last fill up and £1.50 before that. In just a month I'm saving £2 a tank, but still £10 a tank more than what I was paying in September 2010
