 - I'm pretty sure mulmul was trying to be helpful

At the risk of getting told off myself :whistling: - it would be good to put the make and model (WD Elements) in the title - saves folk having to click through before voting :)

We've had a couple of 2TB drives at around this price now - nice find.
#10
Good find!
#11
looks good for 2 TB would have thought it would be hotter

i bought the 2 tb my book for £116 from PC world a week ago. They tell me they'll have stock on tuesday, Yesterday they ring me up saying they received them but they have EU plugs so they can't sell them to me. They suggested they could give me this drive for the same price (which was then at £149.99) but really wanted a my book because of how well its designed and because it has encryption (not sure if this does). I asked if i could get the my book 2 tb elite (which has 3 yrs warranty and an e-label function) for £116 instead. They immediately matched the price and sent it out on the same day... should be 'hopefully' getting it anytime soon.. :)
#17
unrealiable for 2tb

Try to spend some time reading smallprints..
Quidco says about PCWORLD..

"Cashback will initially track at £0.00 and will update to the correct amount at validation..."

So be patient before you loose the patience.. ;-)

No hard drive is "reliable"
#21
I bought the 320GB a while ago, I use it on the Macbook and transfer my movies/music onto it to then plug into the Xbox360 to view/listen.

Nice quality drive, and this is a good price.
#22
So does the 10% off a £50+ spend work on this or not?
#23
OP take it you're a Dexter fan. Or just a butcher that lives in bayhabour :-D

I did not get the codes to work - if I may recomend can either the original poster or a mod please remove the link to discounts due to them not working.

May help save some confusion.

Quidco and Cashback may still work.

Many thanks, yeh good shout re removing codes
#26
good price, however, I'd be careful with external WD drives, their PSUs die like flies...
#27
The PSU? Hmm.. but is the drive itself reliable? As these things go...
#28
Same price in Dixons and Currys if it helps someone (e.g vouchers)

I'm 99% certain that they cant, only flash memory sticks can be used (up to 16gb each).

If Microsoft allowed external HDDs to be used then they would lose a huge amount of revenue from their own Official HDD sales and would basically rend the Xbox Elite model pointless.
#34
Thanks.

Just ordered from Dixons.
#35
ordered. thanks a lot!

I'm pretty certain they can be used for movies and music when connected up to the 360, as I've used my 250gb portable HDD with it in the past!
#37
Thank you, ordered one today for delivery from PC World. Will be linking this up to my WD Live box. currenly got 2 old 400gb HDD's attached - which are not enough room for everything ive got. paid £109 each about 4 years ago. Shows how far we've come on price & technology.

now i just need a decent surround system and i'll be set!

This is a bargain, nearly got one last week for £113, so thanks again!!!
#38
Think it's expired - cannot see it at that price
