Hitachi HSD2000 3.5" 2TB External USB Black from Amazon for £124.50 delivered. Not sure what the difference between the two is?

Not voted.

The Amazon one is an older model. I bought the newer one against the advice of the guy at Scan (Maybe he didn't like Hitachi drives or wanted to sell a more expensive drive.) I'm pretty sure it was cheaper than this a few weeks back.

igot the older one for £117 few weeks back - the newer one comes with a 3 year guarantee - other than that they seem pretty similar.

I went for the older one as i need one that can lay flat - so far so good.
