Please note, if you are privileged to have free Scan delivery, then it is £56.39 which I think is a bargain.

The Deskstar™ 5K3000 hard drive provides an enormous 2TB capacity and features innovative CoolSpin technology to deliver a greater level of power efficiency and quiet operation for energy-conscious, environmentally-friendly computers.

Key to CoolSpin technology is an optimization of motor speed to provide an ideal balance of performance, power utilization and acoustics. The CoolSpin technology, along with other Hitachi power management techniques, gives the Deskstar 5K3000 its 29% power savings over the Deskstar 7K3000.

Since this drive is new here's a few opinions from forums.

This has supposedly 2yrs manufacturer warranty, unless someone knows differently ;o)

well it seem this a new drive...

And like all new thing there tend to be bugs to sort out... :|

Shouldn't those manufacture or designer test it out first?

Best wait till those bugs are sorted.

There not much diffence in price wise anyway from other 2TB HDD(below £60 mark)

wonder when it will go below £50 :p

I was expecting a raft of deathstar comments about this drive but not a whisper. I probably opened the flood gate now <3

From the owners reviews it seems to be a bit quicker than the Samsung F4 and just as quiet. More important there no reports of data corruption which plagued the Samsung drive.

Looks pretty tempting to me ;)
