Aria have dropped the price on this huge HDD. It's at least £15 cheaper than anywhere I can find online and it seems to be next-day delivery for £6.95.

2 Terabyte (2TB) Hitachi 7K2000, 32MB SATA

The Deskstar 7K2000 hard drive delivers a colossal two terabytes of storage capacity and 7200 RPM performance in a standard 3.5-inch form factor. Now in its fourth-generation, the 7K2000 is based on a robust mechanical design that continues to set the industry standard for quality and reliability. Through a patented ramp load/unload design, data heads are moved to a ramp away from the disk where they rest during periods of inactivity. This greatly minimizes the risk of shock damage by eliminating direct contact between the heads and disks, reducing wear and heat while improving overall drive reliability and power efficiency. The Deskstar 7K2000 also incorporates Thermal Fly-Height Control (TFC) technology which uses an integrated heating element to precisely maintain a constant fly-height throughout read and write operations to enhance overall data integrity, drive performance and reliability.

Knew they'd go quickly! Didn't realise it would be that quick.

I added the £6.95 for shipping at the end of title, apparently I ran out of characters when writing 'delivery'. :)

This has to be the first time nobody's mentioned deathstar in a deskstar thread. Ooops :p

Hot.

Def the best price for this anywhere. They have been dropping the price on this model down to £115, but first time iv seen it substantially lower than that.
One word of warning though, these have one more platter than the others, so do get hotter and also performance is slightly lower. But nearest competitor is £130, so depends on your needs / setup.
#18
Price should be edited to include shipping. Misleading.

Since they're nothing but rebadged Seagate drives it's probably time to let that complaint slip. The skoda of hard drive manufacturers. ;)

Very nice price. Ordering one myself (edit: OOS, ah well, will keep checking).

Aria service leaves a lot to be desired. Experience says not to take unless significantly cheaper here. Well it's your call really, what's the price of risk mitigation?

Last time I bought a 'new' drive from Aria it turned up ready partitioned for me with data on it. :whistling:

I've now bought 3 sets of these 2TB drives from Aria. I've not used them before. The stuff turned up in reasonable time. It was all well packaged and as such I was happy. I've not got 6tb in a Drobo drive. I'll get another 2TB soon.

They are doing this drive at 105 inc VAT which is still darn good value
