That's pretty good. Personally I wouldn't touch Hitachi after the poor build quality issues I've had with them, and their warranty is horrible. When the usb port breaks (which is a known flaw with their drives) you're stuck sending in the disk with your data on to lose forever, and not allowed to open it up and extract it yourself. Never had these issues with WD.

Also I've had major issues with Ebuyer recently billing me 3 times for a laptop and then telling me it's out of stock (despite their site showing some in stock). So again, I'd prefer the Amazon deal anyway.

    Getting there.
This isn't that far off what these 'My Book' drives were pre the flooding & quakes.

Good price, I have five WD externals, the oldest now four years old, never any probs. Would like the £60 pre-floods price, but that was for USB2 2Tb. You won't beat this for the foreseeable.

Whats the difference between a portable passport and this. Can i keep unplugging and plugging this in when im moving about?

Portable one uses a 2.5in drive that takes its power from the USB port. This one used a 3.5" drive that requires more power than USB can provide, so needs a separate PSU.

So it has to be plugged in a wall all the time?

In YOUR opinion, I'm sure people have been saying this on EVERY HDD deal since the floods happened. End of the day, prices will only ever be affected by demand, there is no reason for the current prices, if we stop buying, they will stop ripping us off (in my opinion of course!!) ;)

Which presumably means don't vote the deal hot when there's a comparable drive £15 cheaper?

Your deal is removed, and I'm having a hard time understanding how you got £10 off the price.

I am not sure why it was removed... But it is back again now. got the 10 pound off for code TDX-KPHM. Code worked for me and my friend as well(not new customers to tesco). So I believe it will work for all.

It's back on hukd now, but they're actually out of stock on the sticks, so that deals no better any more I'm afraid. Be lucky you got it.
