I think this is a great price for a good continental strong lager. (330ml, 6.6%)

Just to put the record right:

Leffe is an Abbey beer, not a lager.
It's a premium ale.

And on the continent not considered a atrong beer.

Brewed, marketed and distributed by InBev - Anheuser Busch (think Stella, Bass, Becks)

Sorry, but I love my Belgian beers :-)

Love a bit of Leffe.

I tried the tescos finest Belgian abbey beer (not the cloudy one) last week and think its nicer than Leffe, it is about £3 a 75cl bottle.

May be a beer but it still gets awards at the world brewers championships under the lager category :p.

The Blonde is an acquired taste

But the Brune is very good.

I always find shelves full of Blonde. And empty Brune when on offer!

But £0.87.5 for a clean quality beer is a great price!

I like this beer but I will vote cold on this deal as the last time this deal appeared on HotUKdeals, again at Sainsburys, the offer was local.

I felt a right muppet taking the beer to the counter and then back to the shelf.

Quite right and as a member of CAMRA I was trying to use wayward advertising to get folk who are put off by the word "ALE" to potentially try something new. Strong continental lager has the ring of Stella, Grolsch, and other gas filled, flavourless filth which may get some folk interested.

If its on offer then they will have a ticket up, even if they don't the people that work in Sainsburys would be helpful enough to tell you the price and if there is any offers on. I think you must have just missed the last deal because Sainsburys don't do deals to specific stores, if they have the same product with same barcode in different stores then it will always be the same price unless its damaged packaging or going out of date.

It's available online, so I imagine that it is a nationwide offer

Mmm Leffe - about time they stocked Radieuse and Ruby over here too!!

Hope this is local to us

These are regularly £1 each in Tescos, (I know, cos I buy 'em whenever they are) so I suppose this is a good deal if you want 8.

Is £3.50 for 4 bottles of 330ml a good deal. Its not far off £1 a bottle. Am I getting tight in my old age?
#12
It's definitely worth almost £1 a bottle BeerGoggles! What the hell do you normally drink? ;-)

I've actually been to the abbey pictured on the label and sipped water from the source they used to make it, but it's all a lot more commercial these days.

Leffe... Mmmmmmm

Can confirm these are £7 in Swindon.

Is this anything like Erdinger Weissbier or Kronenberg Blanc?

Can't speak for Kronenbourg as I won't let that p*isswasser pass my lips, but leffe is poor compare to erdinger.

Far too "perfumey", which is the style for Belgian/trappist beers and ales.

I'd stick to Erdinger, or get some Weihenstephan

The 12 pack for £10.99 works out more epensive comparatively

But still, not a bad deal and cant beat a bit of Leffe. Duvel is another favourite ;)

it's blonde not white (blanc) beer, it's a strong-ish beer w good flavour, hoppy with a little bitterness

If you live in the south, catch the boat to Calais and drive about 1 hour to Brugge. Grab a lovely lunch, wonder round the canals, take some snaps, buy some chocolate a tapestry (yeah right), pop into a supermarket just out of the old town, load your car boot up with all sorts of lovely Belgium beer at cheap prices, drive/sail back to old blighty...what a cracking good day out!
