Not 1 but 2 Carbon Monoxide Detectors for £21.43 Delivered (£10.72 each). To get them for this price you need to also buy a Tesco mobile Sim card (from £2.47) which gives free delivery on your whole order (normally £4.95).

Buying 2 enable you to use the code TDX-CT32K7 which gives you £5 off a £20 spend. You could always buy 1 detector and buy other stuff to take your order over £20. I've no idea when this code expires.

You try telling that to Rod Hull....

fantastic piece of kit and a great price, I paid £30 a couple of years ago for 1 of these

It is important to remember that statistically, you are more likely to be killed by a donkey, than CO poisoning. All cases of CO poisoning last year by domestic gas appliances were down to faults that would have been rectified by a proper service.

Spend the money on having your boiler properly serviced!

How long do these things last? Do you have to replace them every two years or anything?

If I have a combi boiler do I just need one in the room with that in then I can sell the other one?

Cheers.

It'll last five years before the unit needs replacing, they are available from B&Q for £10 each today, if they have any left, got mine at 7am in the morning. Its recommended to have one in each room with a gas appliance.

In the UK AndyToys?. Must be a seaside kinda thing, LOL. According to Corgi, there were 50 CO related deaths between January & April 2007.

There must be a lot of donkey related deaths that go unreported :)

That could be it then, think I may have used it a while ago,...

I *think* it was a European donkey statistic? (I saw it somewhere on the web but it was a while ago.)

With regards to the "50 CO deaths per year" statistic, they weren't all due to domestic gas appliances, as far as I know.

What I'm trying to get at, is that it's FAR more important to get your gas appliances serviced than it is to buy a CO detector!

Statistically the chances of getting poisoned by CO are VERY small and are virtually NIL if your gas appliances are properly installed and maintained. Why buy a detector for something that will almost certainly never happen?

Maybe I should start selling cut-price Donkey detectors? Perhaps everyone will buy 'em 'cos "it's better to be safe than sorry" regardless of the low risk....

These are the ones that are £27.99 in B&Q.

The ones for a tenner don't have an LCD.

Bought 2 with sim card for £21.43

Then really only needed one of them so took 1 back with the sim card and got back £14.98 + £2.97 = £17.95 they did not take off the 20% off diy and also the £5 off so paid a total of £3.48 Bargain!

These are still there but now half price as these were £30.
