GoDaddy have a rather epic 31% off any order at the moment.

Hosting consists of:
• 10 GB Space
• Unlimited Bandwidth
• 100 Email Accounts
• 10 MySQL Databases (1 GB ea.)
• FREE £61 Google® Ad Credits
• FREE £30 Bing™/Yahoo!® Ad Credits
• FREE £30 Facebook® Ad Credits

Use code 'gdz532a' at checkout.

I know there are cheaper domains (.info for example), but most people just want to know a simple price for .co.uk with hosting.

If you're voting cold, please let me know a cheaper deal as I'm struggling to find one.

GoDaddy's backend is truly awful. I have a few hosting accounts and much prefer Bluehost for cheap shared hosting in the US they're hard to rival. If you look around you can find links to pay $3.95/£2.43pm or £29.16 per year with a free .org/.com/.net. You also get more space, emails, unlimited domain addons, unlimited databases etc. 24/7 live chat.

In my Bluehost account I have around 15 websites and Pingdom.com uptime reports show in the last 13 months average uptime has been 99.79%

I also prefer to register throw away domains with hosting accounts as it makes it so much easier keep domains + hosting separate.

The code works for SSL certificates too. Just in time for renewal :o)

Bluehost/Hostmonster started out ok for me but ended up slowing down SO much I had to move.

Thought it was some kind of conspiracy that everyone said Vidahost was so good - turns out they really are pretty bloody fantastic! Unbelievably good support!!

Avoid them like the plague.

Not voting either way as I have no experience with other hosting providers (I do actually use godaddy myself for half a dozen sites). I agree with softpurple that GoDaddy's backend is awful - really unintuitive and made even more frustrating by the fact that you have to navigate all the other things they try to persuade you you want to buy every time you want to make a simple change.

However, the reason I chose them a few years ago now is that they're a big company and they've been around for quite a while, so at least you know they're not a fly-by-night that will leave you without a website.

What I would say though is that this price doesn't seem exceptional: you can get hosting for around this price from quite a number of providers. Does anyone have any experience with unlimitedwebhosting or justhostme or hostpapa (which come up fairly high in the search listings) or any other good alternatives? I'm interested in the answer to this as I'd been thinking of switching, but a lot of the reviews look like fakes to me.

Oh, a tip for anyone who does want to use godaddy: never buy anything at full price because you can ALWAYS find a voucher code! Google "godaddy fatwallet" or "godaddy livecodes" for a couple of good and regularly updated lists of codes for pretty much everything they sell.

I'd recommend these guys: http://www.tsohost.co.uk/ top class service and UK based. Prices very reasonable too. Been using them for a few years now. They always sort any problems and answer support calls within the hour.

I googled a coupon and found one in seconds that gave 4 years for £69.60.

I second that.... excellent hosts and good prices with some discount coupons lurking on the net if you're lucky.

I have found falcoda http://www.falcoda.co.uk/ to be cheap and fairly decent .The hosting is reasonably fast and rather reliable, did not experience many downs, service seem responsive and keen to help. Can't call it 5-stars service but if you are looking for something cheap and working, you can give them a try.

My web with wireless alarms is hosted by them so you can have a look and check at least the speed of the server.Obviously I cannot take responsibility if you will not like it :).
