Update from dalecheesy - see post 29 for receipt .......Scanned them into one of their fast serve points and when you scan the third one in it takes 2 quid off the total so it costs a quid for 3. Went back and got another 6 and once again it takes 2 quid off the first 3 then another 2 quid off when you scan another 3 through.

£3.00 for 5 Easter Eggs Glitch

Thanks to moomoominx on mse for sharing it.

Copied and edited from post ............... ive just been to morrisons and picked up 5 of the eggs that were £1.00 (offer ended yesterday) but still on shelf with offer tags - so thought id have them and argue that they were still advertised at that price - but when they went through the till came up at £3.00 for 5 eggs! - went round again and got another 5 to stock up on the ones me n the hubby eat before the kids get them lol!

Picture as a guide - not eggs on sale

Best throw it out before he does then as it will be well out of date.

No it won't, it may be past its best before date, but that is only a quality control indication. Use by dates are for safety.

Where did I mention BB or Use by ? It's out of date, whatever one it is. We all know what they mean!

Some seafood get toxic even before. But I agree that chocolate should be alright.

I've just read that post on mse and she has clarified it is actually 3 eggs for £3 not 5 eggs

Edit, I have just re-read and now I am confused

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=3123856&highlight=

I think she may mean the 3 eggs for £3 offer but actually you can get 5 eggs for £3?:|

i think what she is saying is the new offer had kicked in today - but the old offer is still on the tills too - so you are getting two reductions of the eggs - hence 5 for £3

I've got jars of stuff in my carbords that are 5-7 years "out of date" and still ok
(some people have no sence of jugment ??) i guess some of the time manufacture's know that if there is a date on an item that people will throw it away just to buy some more

PS ive got areldite thats 34 years out of date and still works fine

I used to work in a chocolate factory and chocolate is ok if its chilled in a proper environment but if its in a warm, everyday home environment, chocolate can become (known in the trade as untempered) stale and taste foul. And is really not good for you either, Ever see a bit of chocolate that looks like it has its own version of measles or chicken pox - don't eat it!

So has anybody else actually had this glitch happen to them today?
#23
Just been in......for 5 Easter eggs it cost me £8 .... Chester branch
#24
Its not 5 for £3. It's buy one got 2 free. Just bought 9 and everytime you scan the 3rd one it takes 2 quid off so you'd have been better buying another one and you'd have paid £2 for 6. Only meant to buy 3 but the better half noticed that it had taken £2 off so went back to get another 6. Wooo loadsa chocolate :)

Scanned them into one of their fast serve points and when you scan the third one in it takes 2 quid off the total so it costs a quid for 3. Went back and got another 6 and once again it takes 2 quid off the first 3 then another 2 quid off when you scan another 3 through. I'll upload the receipt if i can find it.
There you go. 1 pound each for three then 2 quid off the total. The egg fried rice wasn't a special edition one :)

This did not work in my local Morrison's. Drove all the way there scanned 3 in in self scan, clicked checkout and the price was £4! Big waste of petrol.
#36
Brentford Morrisons are £2 each egg and then get £2 off when buying 3 so l wonder if store specific bug
