Very cheap, but sadly very rubbish. I've had three and all three have died: one was D.O.A., one died within a week and another within two months. I've had to pay for all three as it's such a hassle trying to get Deal Extreme to replace anything, it was cheaper buying the replacement.

Try to source a good quality adaptor and pay the extra, it will definately be worth it.

Not voted either way, as the price is good and I am not sure if the OP realises how poor these items are.

Five for US$6.95 (about £4.24) delivered, if you apply bulk rates. I've been hunting for something like this for ages, and would imagine they'd be about a fiver each if somewhere like Maplin sold them.

Why isn't it 3.5mm in he first place! Thieves.

Gingerboy: The iPhone does have a 3.5mm socket, but it's recessed, making it hard to plug in many third-party headphones due to the size of the plastic surrounding their jack plug. Apple aren't the only people to do this; iRiver's LCD remotes for the H100 and SlimX have a similarly recessed socket. I suspect it's partly a looks-before-function design quirk, and maybe a bit of protecting the socket from trauma.

So, you only need this with certain earphone sets?

LotusJas: If your headphones have a really tiny straight plastic surround on the jack plug, they'll fit fine. Most don't, however, especially if they're L-shaped.
