Right, I tried this and it worked fine, if you go to vue they always give you a voucher with £1.50 off your next visit, so if you go at an off peak time and use this voucher using orange Wednesdays it costs £3.45 and the 35p for the orange Wednesday text, and if you go at a peak time it costs £4.80 and the 35p. It is ideal for those under 18 who can make it at off peak times in the holidays and also for those looking for a cheap night out!

Sorry it sounds a bit complicated but it does work and at around £2 each it is definately worth doing

Hope it helps!

It looks a good deal, but since when could you use orange wednesdays at vue. Is it the buy one get one free deal?

Yeah you can use the orange Wednesdays at most cinemas, and it is the two for one deal and anyone on orange can use it, its really good if you want to go on a Wednesday and the £1.50 makes it even sweeter.

You have always been able to use orance wednesdays at Vue....I thought that was the first cinema to accept it...
#4
My local Vue has stopped giving out the £1.50 vouchers. Instead, we have a "Cheap Day Tuesdays" Card.
#5
My local view in Bury does Orange wednesdays and issues the £1.50 off your next visit vouchers but the vouchers cant be used in conjuction with Orange Wednesdays.
#6
'Cheap Tuesday' doesn't exist in London, irritatingly.

And pretty sure the Vue's in London don't let you use those vouchers with Orange Wednesday either. They are still giving them out though.

The lady who served me just tapped into her screen and it came up as £1.50 off, I can scan in the ticket stub if you want, but both voucher and the orange Wednesdays can be used in the vue Cardiff

i've also used the vouchers along with my cheap day tuesday card for extra cheap tickets

WE have neither in Eastleigh as far as I'm aware.
It's a lovely cinema but so expensive.

I've done it in the Romford Vue several times also. Cracking deal.

Best of all, Outback Steakhouse have just started doing a £10.99 menu too that's OK for the money, so dinner, drinks, cinema and snacks for two normally costs me around £30!
#12
I have always found that it depends on the cashier you get and if they allow you to use the 2 offers in conjunction with each other.

Not doubting it worked for you mate and congrats it did...

I tried it a few weeks ago at pilsworth and got a grin and a "nice try" responce...lol...So must depend on who serves you...

Yeah I go to pilsworth which is the quietest cinema ive ever been to..lol... Think it closes next summer to make way for the new one in bury town centre... Its an Odeon in Rochdale..
#15
Yes, Vue was the first Orange Wednesday offer, Odeon is new.

Same deal at Southport VUE; I submitted the Orange Wednesday code then asked about using the £1.50-off voucher[s] and was told that they couldn't be used together..

So the deal sounds great in principle, if you're lucky enough to get a cashier/cinema that allows it.

Haven't had a £1.50 off voucher in Portsmouth Vue for well over a year :-(

Its closing noooooooooooooo:w00t:

I go to the Pilsworth Vue as well and I didn't know they were closing it because of the new one in Bury, I like the fact that it's quiet, it certainly wasn't quiet for Harry Potter last Wednedsay. I tried using the voucher and they wouldn't accept them both.
#22
excellent deal but no vue cinemas near me, any other cinemas do the vouchers off?

:w00t:

Thank you VERY much.

Never knew Vue was in on the Orange Wednesdays thing, no Vues around here though just one terrible overpriced Odeon :x

This voucher is worth a shot but the T&C below the ticket are pretty clear that it shouldn't be accepted!

was about to say the same

they gave out -£1.50 when it opened but they wouldn't accept them with orange wed.

as for it being so expensive, I actually thought it was cheaper than odeon and far cheaper and better than the screen in winch. But I've only gone on a wed so far
#25
Used to work there so can clarify the voucher is not supposed to be used with any other discount. That said the system allows it, in fact I could put a free carer ticket and an orange wednesday tagged to that if I wanted too. Depends on the site if they check individual transactions to see if anyone is screwing over the system. Some did, some didn't. Mostly if you try this expect to be told no but hey worth a try

Not worthy of the heat then - pretty much everyone on the thread says they either do not get a voucher or they cannot be used on orange wednesdays. Voted cold.

The thing about phoning 241 for a free code - repped. Always thought you had to text.

Sorry - but either texting or phoning costs the same doesn't it? Either way they take 35p off your balance...

Fair enough, but as someone else has said a cashier can do it and if someone on here gets the deal like I did, then I feel it is worth posting, and it doesn't cost anything to try :)

Can't remember mate, we were always changing supplier to cheaper ones. When I was there it was 10KG HUGE tins of cheese with a ton of tap water mixed in and diluted to suit. We were always encouraged to dilute to the point until we could get away with it. Don't know who they've changed to now but taste rank personally

defo worth mentioning m8 agreed. might work for some people. I trained half the staff under me where I used to work so walk in free most days anyway. point being, not many follow company rules so if staff can't be bothered take advantage where you can.

Well for peak showings it is £7.65, Odeon is £7.50. I was going to take my cousin to Ice Age 3D but it would have been £17 for the 2 of us before popcorn etc...
Orange Wednesdays save quite a bit.

No, phoning is free. Call 241 now if you want, clearly says you wont be charged for this call ;-)

Texting to get the ticket is FREE
Phoning to get the ticket is FREE

Receiving the text costs 35p

There's no advantage therefore to either. I've always phoned as I knew that was free but wasn't sure about the text.

Here's relevant info :

23. To call or text 241 or 80241 is free. To receive a text ticket you'll be charged a rate of 35p per text.

see http://web.orange.co.uk/article/orange-wednesdays-terms-and-conditions/

Also, there's a way of getting a 241 ticket to your (non-orange IIRC) mobile if you ave orange broadband - have a look at http://web.orange.co.uk/p/film/orange_wednesdays

(not really that useful now there's a free sime and £5 credit available.......but maybe useful in future)
