This is one of their standard deals, it comes and goes. Usually after this promotion they will put them down even lower.. to create space for new stock... Thus their 'everything must go' sales, which people perceive as closing down!
However, it is a very good price for Audio books!
:)

this is true but I think there closing down sale might be just that this time as they are currently in AMINISTRATION so if no buyer is found it will be another High street Retailer gone to the wall.....

I work for the Works and this is a longstanding deal. Its always on and never goes off. As for being in administration, yes we are, but we are far from closing. The chain is too good for it to be closed.

these audio books include a few james herbert books which are hard to get hold of usually, however be warned that they are shortened versions of the stories so if you've read the book you will probably be disappointed in these.
voted hot, good deal anyway

Welcome to HUKD Dennis Pennis.

Might be worth anyone looking for Audiobooks to check out "Dusty Covers" - the book & Audiobook arm of Uwish HERE.
They carry a mix of New & Ex-shop stock (clearly marking which is which), have a set price of £2.99 for any title & are still running a 4 for a tenner promo (both prices inc P&P).

6% Quidco is available by going to the site via the Quidco link for Uwish & then the Dusty Covers tab on the Uwish homepage.

I can believe that, I cant even count the number of successful and profitable companies that end up in administration... :whistling:

Do I sense a hint of sarcasm in there somewhere?????

prospective buyers are being looked into, which is why nothing has happened to the company.

Lets hope it stays on the high street, I for one will really miss it if we loose it.

I agree ..I have had some great deals from the works but it looks like the retail sector is feeling the crunch more than other areas ..Ponden mills has also fallen victim to the recession..if things don't get better soon we will only be left with supermarkets and once they have a monopoly then we will all feel it in our pockets....

Hope we don't lose The Works. They are absolutely great for kids books - good value etc. I've had many a bargain from them.

I know ....why not start a petition to get the government to spend some of our hard earned cash and nationalise them......hey if they can do it for Northern Rock why not go for the full works .....we can use this thread to get it moving ....tell all your friends to come and post here and we can forward it to Gordon Brown for a response .... Probably need about amillion signatures but from small acorns do mighty oak trees grow ...... Come on hotuk dealers ... Let them hear are voice as one ........

Audiobooks? Nope, that seems a bit pointless.

Not for people like me who don't like reading that much,I have read Harry Potter books but enjoy them read by Stephen Fry (although I can't see any Harry Potter audio books here).
Also, Blind people or even children might find these usefull

I find that reading a paperback whilst driving can be a little dangerous and I believe it is frowned upon by the police so I chose audio books whilst in the car...

I used to study english at school when I first arrive in the country using audiobooks that contained the book as well. Do you know if any of these include the paper book?
If not, do you know where I can find them? They are very usefull for learning the pronunciation.

have not really looked onto whether they have the paper version of the books but I would try all the usual suspects such as the book people ...amazon...the works .... Dusty covers ...bertrams or do a google. Search looking for paperback version ... Hope this helps and good look with the learning....:p

I notice that no one has got behind the campaign to nationalise (the works) for the greater good of the tax paying public ....come on Charlie drum up some support LOL....
