Cheapest 3-channel I've found yet. Even on this site.
Yes, it's DealExtreme, and some people have horror stories to tell, but so far I've only had good experiences.
Free shipping.
Actual price will depend on conversion rate at the time of billing
Yes, it's IR and not RF, but it's cheap and should be fun. At least it should give you some forward and backward direction.
Yes the rear prop is "not realistic", butit's cheap and fun.
Yes the play time will be short, but it's cheap and fun.

3-Channel InfraRed remote control system
- Helicopter recharged by remote controller (no need to carry around a bulky AC adapter)
- 3.7V 100mAh protected rechargeable lithium battery built-in (over-charge proof)
- Remote controller powered by 6 x AA batteries (sold separately)

Once despatched, 10 days is about right. However, it usually takes them at least 2 days to process the order and sometimes their products are in back-order so you will need to wait for those to come in stock. Shortest delvery time from despatch that I have had is 7 days.

I will admit that I have yet to have an order completed first time round: there's always something out of stock or delayed, but they send the bulk and ship the outstanding items later. I've had one shipment get here three days after they said they posted it, but 7 days is the norm. Some people claim that they have had to wait weeks or even months, but so far I have no complaints. Customer Service has been uprated, too, so I would take less notice of complaints from last year. Build quality is not always fantastic, but the prices are. If you look at some of the gear on ebuyer, aria, and even Firebox, I'm pretty certain that some of it is the same or very similar, and usually quite a bit less..

If you prefer your choppers army style, they have another one for the same price:

Voted cold I'm afraid. Can get a Picoo for about the same price and I'd rather go with the more trusted name.

Cool!

Mine was dispatched yesterday so will update when it arrives.

Mine's arrived today!!

BUT, I can't get it to work! I've left it on charge for about 20 minutes and nothing. The green charging light only flashes when the helicopter is turned on, instructions say it should be turned off. Either way, can't get anything out of it, have tried all 3 channels.

Anyone got any advice?

Got mine today, all ok (well up and down, not sure about flying it around the room yet !) re your probs, sorry to state the obvious but this is what I did to get it it working.
1 Fit 6 new batteries in the transmitter
2 Underneath chopper is tiny socket and switch. You will know when its on because there's a blue light inside. make sure its off.
3 Plug wire in to socket from the transmitter, green light comes on (transmitter) charging takes approx 10 mins (green light goes off)
4 switch back on.
5 Turn on transmitter leave channel on A
6 You need to be approx 1mtr away, Push left hand stick slowly forwards, rotor should start, keep moving forward. We have lift off ! ! !

PS I'm ordering another one, in case I have a crash ! I think its brilliant

Thanks, good to hear yours is working ok.

Thanks for the steps you took, I've pretty much done the same but a few suttle differences which may be the reason why.

1. I didn't use brand new batteries, but the ones I've put in should be ok, they light up the lights on the transmitter and they work my camera ok. Will try some brand new ones to see if that's why.

2. Don't get any blue light on the chopper, but then the batteries aren't charged on the chopper yet I assume so I wouldn't expect to see one.

3. When the chopper is on the charge light flashes, when the chopper is off the charge light is off. It never stays on solid.

Will try again with brand new batteries.

Tried some new batteries, still not working. Looks like I got a dodgy one. Lets see how dealextreme are for swapping it over, got a funny feeling they'll want it shipped back, I'd rather just chuck it in the bin!

Couldn't be bothered to send them a photo of it not working so I've had to use the customer love department rather than the express option!

Ah ! that's a real shame that, having waited all that time for it to arrive :x. When I first switched the Chopper switch to on a blue light came on inside, so must have had a bit of juice already in it. Are you sure your plugging it in correctly (right way round) got to admit its a really dodgy connection ! The green light comes on solid (no flashing) for approx 10 mins then goes off once charged. Wish you could get it going as it really is amazing ! Keep posting let me know how you get on. As I said earlier i'm gunna order another one its that good.

The connector only seems to go in one way, can't get it in the other way.

When the helicopter is on the green light flashes if I try to charge it. If the helicopter is off the green light never comes on. Will probably get the one from Amazon now as I can send it back more easily if there's anything wrong.
