Just been in to Tesco today to get some beer in the 2 for £16 deal, but it had been taken off early.Upon enquiring i was told that a new offer was starting on wednesday but @ 3 for £20.
Not sure if it is the same range, but should still be a good deal whatever is in the range. If you have a NOTW £5 off £30 voucher,it could come in very handy for an even better deal.

Thanks for posting about this.

I was due a delivery tonight and had bought some Boheme on the 2 for £16 offer. Not only would this have been more expensive than the 3 for £20 offer, but because they pulled the 2 for £16 offer, I would have been charged the full price of £15.99 per case. I rang up and cancelled, with a view to reordering on Wednesday and I would advise anyone else who has bulk beer orders due today or tomorrow to do the same.

I am so mad at Tesco:x

Brought my order tonight which basically consisted of 6 lots of beer as per the 2 for £16 promotion and they were charged at full price. I phoned while driver waited and was told that there was no such offer on their website, so I sent the whole lot back to the store.

Phoned again and spoke to another person who said the same thing and also added that they hadn't been running any beer promotions for over a week. I said "oh so you think I am lying then" and he got all defensive. That offer was DEFINITELY on their website yesterday and that is why I placed the order for delivery tonight because the offer was finishing. I am totally pi**ed off with Tesco for implying very strongly that I am delusional and imagined the whole thing. Trouble is that when you get your order confirmation email it doesn't show these promotions, says that will be deducted when items are delivered.

Now I can't even find an email address for their customer services - does anyone know it???

Many thanks.

Hi,

Not that this is of any help as such but I'd experienced exactly the same problem as you did with a pay for two get the third free offer on Guinness bought from Tesco Groceries. They made a right mess of the order and categorically denied that they had made an error. The web-site clearly suggested how to go about claiming the offer and they said that I'd ordered incorrectly. Anyway after being spoken to very abruptly and discourteously by a manager there they finally admitted that there was an error on their web-site and agreed to issue a £5.00 e-voucher to be used against another purchase.

Really do not like the way in which they treat loyal customers. They seem to be too big to care.

Good luck with getting your order put right.

You know what we need? It's to fill this site with Tesco promotions. Then we can move on to all the other supermarket promotions too. Then eventually this site will finally become the pointless supermarket advertising site that you're in such a rush to turn it into!

Alcohol promotions. In a supermarket. I'm pretty sure we could all find these WITHOUT hotukdeals...

i couldnt beej, i dont want to walk round asda and tesco each time on the off chance of a beer offer. My asda and tesco are about 1 mile apart and i have no car so this is a great way for me to find out so i can order online or get a lift to tesco or asda.

Hope someone can find out what beers and packs, can sizes are as i've been waiting for 1 of these offer for weeks now, i've run dry of beer. I hope its 18 packs of john smiths cans!

Similar situation here. C/S denied any knowledge of the 2-for-16 promotion but then refunded the difference anyway whilst driver was waiting. Not well please to see a 3-for-promotion now (may order some more, I think ... :-D)

Same thing happened to me yesterday evening & also last time I ordered with Tescos. Bunch of muppets.
Previous occasion it was 4 cans half price. They came up at full price and all details of the offer had disappered from the website despite the fact that it was definitely still in date.
Last night the Boheme came in at £15.99 a box rather than £16 for two (again offer in date till the19th with delivery on 18th) so had to spend ages arguing with customer services who had no knowledge of the offer. She said that apparently the IT team are having problems with this. Did hopefully eventually get the £32 refunded though but will check statement carefully. It was hard work!
Strange thing is that I added something else to my basket the previous morning and noticed that the beer wasn't showing as on special anymore in my basket. I rang specifically to check that I wouldn't be charged full price. She initially denied any knowledge of the offer till I pointed out that at that point it was still showing on the homepage.
She then said that "perhaps the offer has gone off in your local store then". So after a long delay I was put through to my local store who assured me that the beer was in stock and the offer was on till the 19th so I would definitely not be charged full price.
Needless to say when it arrived hours later and I had been charged full price I wasn't too pleased! They should have been pleased to sell at 2 for £16 if it's now going to be 3 for £20!
Moral for me is Tesco.com = muppets. Check bills carefully!

They wouldn't refund me the difference, just didn't seem to believe that there had ever been an offer on in the first place. Did manage to get the £4 delivery charge refunded though, otherwise it would have made my milk very expensive. I am waiting to see what happens tomorrow with this new offer that is supposed to be coming on. Perhaps it would be worth phoning the customer services at the time of ordering and asking them to make a note that the promotion is actually showing on the website.

Do you have a store close by.If so,take the packs there today while they are at full price, with your receipt and ask for a refund. Then buy again with the new offer from tomorrow.:)

Not quite the same offer as asda had the 18 packs of carlsberg included.

Have just placed another order with Tesco for the 3 for £20 beers to be delivered tomorrow
(20th August).

It says on their website that this offer is on untli 26th August, but I don't trust them after that debacle last night. Have totally lost confidence in Tesco now.

It sounds almost too good to be true really, that Boheme lager is usually £15.99 for one case and they are saying I can buy three cases for £20!

Just hope it works out this time.:x

It might be worth taking print outs of the offer on the site and of your checkout as proof

Now I'm really peed off!! Can't find any Carlsberg Export in bottles in a deal! Tesco have always had an Export deal, but not this time:x:cry:

Oh my word. . I had a massive problem getting this deal today. I went to Tesco this morning at 7 ( 10 miles from home) to be told the deal was on but the tills wouldn't register it, they helpfully offered that I could buy the lagers at full price but wouldn't be able to get the 3 for £20 deal! I then went to another Tesco where still they didn't have the deal offered. The Manager agreed to honour it but made it out like she was doing me a favour and used the words 'apparently they're on the internet' quite a lot!
Just beware it seems you might have to put your fists up to get this deal, although interestingly the Kronenburg as well as the Brahma were going through as £8 standard price and not the £15ish normal price.

wated journey!!!!not heard of offer at my local branch!!!

No knowledge at my local store either (Warwick).

hrm odd they've changed the blurb on the website;

The items below are only available for deliveries on or before 20 August 2008. To take advantage of this offer, add 2 items (or multiples of 2) to your basket.

Basically making the offer one day only ??!?!!?

It's still showing for me on Tesco.com. Maybe it's a regional thing.

They do seem to be a bit mixed up with this offer, as they says things in different places which don't necessarily add up:

On the main pop up page for the offer it says: 3 for £20.00 or 2 for £16.00. The items below are only available for deliveries on or before 25 August 2008. To take advantage of this offer, add 2 items (or multiples of 2) to your basket. Obviously this is a bit contradictory as it seems to suggest that only the 2 for £16 offer is in operation.

On the page with beers listed, it says next to the beers in the offer: 3 for £20.00 or 2 for £16.00 - valid from 21/08/2008 until 25/08/2008 - add 2 for offer. This suggests the offer starts tomorrow and again the add 2 for offer seems to imply that it is just 2 for £16.

I phoned customer services yesterday to get absolute 100% confirmation that the offer showing on their website at that time would be honoured if I placed an order yesterday - i.e. 3 for £20 offer valid until 26th August. This offer was in a prominent position on their grocery homepage (where the Finish dishwasher tablets are now). The lady I spoke to went to the grocery home page and confirmed that I was absolutely correct. I phoned yet again after I had placed the order to check that all was still well and was told it was. So fed up with Tesco that I saved the page and printed it as proof.

Imagine my shock this afternoon when I went to the grocery home page only to discover that the offer had disappeared. On further investigation it is still there is you type in the relevant beers, but the dates have changed to valid for deliveries between 21st - 25th August. Of course my order placed yesterday is being delivered tonight (20th August) and so is out of the offer dates.

Phoned customer services again - now getting totally pi$$ed off with Tesco and had a good rant. They said that my order was being delivered a day too early for the offer price - even though when I placed it yesterday it was OK. After much ranting and raving they have agreed to refund me the difference tomorrow after my order has been delivered.

I just don't know what they are up to, the goalposts seem to be moved daily and of course you can't place an order for delivery the same day and within 24 hours all the rules have been changed again.

I told them that they will be losing customers if they carry on like this, it is a disgrace. I have spent probably over an hour on the telephone in the past few days trying to get some sense out of all this.

Has anybody else had a similar experience?

They promised to email me tomorrow morning to confirm my refund is being processed - so they had better keep their word this time...........:x:x

Just popped in to my local store, asked for the duty manager,so he could explain the situation. He said that the offer should have been on today, but they have a problem (No kidding) with the system and the IT dep't haven't or can't update the system so that all the tills accept the offer. He said it may be on tomorrow but to call the store and ask to speak to the duty manager to see if it is actually on before coming in to store.
Shambolic for a multi million pounds (dis)organisation.:viking:
