    Poor man's Stephen King. Not in the same class of course (who is ?) but Ive enjoyed some of his books. Original Odd Thomas (ruined by the movie, missing so many important characters and items) the Frankenstein series was so-so, (I can imagine King doing the idea brilliantly, Koontz's was dreary) and one or two others

    I agree, not in the same league as Stephen King at all....
    Even though i'm a fan of the genre, Dean Koontz writing style just doesn't do it for me. I dont even bother trying his stuff anymore.

    Yeah I was thinking exactly the same thing, what a Koontz he is.

    Always laugh at the FamilyGuy episode when Brian runs over some writer in a road. Jumps out and say "Oh my God ! Sorry ! Are you Stephen King ?" (King was nearly killed in exact same way before writing "Misery") the dazed feller gets up and says "No, I'm Dean Koontz" to which Brian gets back in the car and reverses over him, and then drives over him again !
