I'm a IT professional but still find this an entertaining read. It certainly isn't complete Janet and John level.

Did a similar deal earlier this year, got my 1gb memory stick which promptly died within a month of getting it!

Might be a one off, but the memory stick in question is pretty cheap and there is nothing worse than a stick full of lost data! Be careful is all I'm saying.

As an IT support person, I would recommend the magazine - yes, it isn't for IT experts, but it does well for less PC literate people. I wish the people I support would buy it - getting gasps of amazement when using standard windows shortcuts gets boring after a while!

Good stuff! I'll take one for a £1

I think it's excellent. Suggest HotUKer's try it and make up their own minds

Thanks, it's worth checking out for £1. When can I cancel the direct debit, I presume after the first payment has been taken?

You'll get the USB Drive only after (upto as the ad. says) 28 days, its worth waiting 2 months before you cancel. Got this mailer today morning as well.

Cheers

If you had uttered those words with a nasally, contemptuous tone of voice, you would have ticked all the IT Support boxes. :whistling:

cancel it. if you dont wish to carry on that is. Also the key is delivered usually within 28 days or something, NOT after 28days

Thanks gone for it

Cheap but I avoid direct debits where possible.

I got this letter through the post as well this morning...

I just love the way they are saying you get a free 1gb USB key worth £14.99

where the hell do they get there prices... I get mine from 7 day shop, only £1.99 each...

I have had Computeractive from the very start. It has ,not only increased my pc knowledge but has saved me a lot of cash when i have had IT problems which I have been able to resolve my self . recommended

Yes me too. We should ask them to prove this is not false advertising.
Where can you find an unbranded 1GB memory stick for £14.99
I can get 8Gb for less than that, and an extra pound will get you a 16GB one.
Can i prefer to take a cheque for £14.99 and buy my own Memory stick?
#23
It is a total fabricated price for the USB stick but try and find one for £1 delivered, I got it for that... the magazines can go in the recycling or donate them to somewhere.
#24
I had this offer a few months ago for 6p. So a 1Gb usb + 6 issues of magazine for 6p. :p
