Packaging branded Illuminate and described as LED Torch, further down mentions Ultra Bright LED. Thought it looked like cree emitters. Once purchased and opened I was able to confirm that it indeed was 3 cree emitters and quite bright indeed.

Comes with 2 D Cell batteries all sealed up inside the torch.

Might be useful to have around the car/home/work.

I will check this tomorrow, I think it's pretty unlikely to have 3 Cree emitters though. One Cree emitter is generally enough and since this is £1.99 there's no way.

If it's running 3 'd' cells, I can well imagine that it is 3 cree's... why give it d cells for one emitter when 2 aa's last a good few hours ?

It takes 2 D cells, and it aint going to have 3 Crees for £1.99

The Maglite 2D LED has one emitter.

You can doubt it if you like, but have compared the emitters in this unit with other torches which are definately cree and sell for £10 locally to me and they look identical.

Plus these give a nice spot of light, unlike standard LED units which tend to give out a weaker light over a wider area.

Having just bought one myself, these do appear to be cree lights and have a very concentrated beam that seems to be good for at least 50 yards at night. The torch just looks like any cheapo D-cell type, but it's performance is head and shoulders above what 2 quid normally buys you.

Voted hot, very hot.
