Its in live chat where they give out the code for free £20 accessory too.

Edited to show this is available on £15 a month contract not £12 as originally stated.

Repost already been posted. You can also get the LG U300.
#2
Are you 100% sure you can get out after just 6 months?
#3
Yea you wanna make sure its free to cancel after 6 months. Sounds like alot of hassle to me.
#4
When do you go on live chat, before ordering or during...
#5
They'll tell you anything to get a sale on that Live chat!!
#6
Yep voted cold. Clearly states 18 month contract on website. Dont see how it could be anything else.
#7
Seems a good deal for a 6 month contract. (check home page, says 6 month contract) only problem the recommend a friend works for 18 month contract only (had e-mail from 3) + the credit according to the e-mail may not be for the line rental only add ons (not 100% sure e-mail abit confusing).

Deal i've found for my son with 3 is as follows
Through Quidco go to One Stop Phone Shop (£37.50)
Pick the Nokia 6288 clearance under 3 network (£90 automatic cashback)
Pick the 300min £15 a month over 18 months (total £270)
£270 - 37.5 - 90 = £142.50 or £7.92 a month. (Remember to cancel insurance).

Sometimes the webchat people bearly speak English, how can you be sure that the arrangment made with them is a legal binding contract? isnt this the same as a verbal agreement and therefore means nothing unless writen into a contract?

If they tell you this on live chat, they have made a "representation" with respect to the terms of the contract. If you enter into the contract in reliance upon that respresentation, it is legally binding upon them (even if the right is not stated specifically in the contract).

So make sure you keep a copy of the chat window and you should be alright.

Oh and BTW, the problem with verbal contracts is not that they are un-enforceable, but that you would have extreme difficulty in proving in court the terms which were agreed. When you buy a sweet from the newsagents, you in fact enter into a contract (even though it isn't written down). The terms of that contract are implied by the sale of goods act.

I knew i was wasting my time posting it !
Firstly if it is a repost it does not come up in a search whilst listing the deal.
The screen clearly says 6 month contract and i also have a screen shot of this.
Regarding webchat they maybe can 'barely speak english' but seem to be able to type in english ok !
Web hunter - I went into live chat before ordering.
#10
It states 6 months minimum contract special on the Skypephone on the website when u select a handset.

Good deal.....

£72 line rental
£16 Quidco
£30 refer a friend credit
£30 credit on my other 3 phone
Means over 6 months it pays me £4!
1 Like #11
My quidco has tracked at £20.
#12
be careful!! this is a great deal but there is some mis-information floating around

firstly, this deal has been posted twice already! with questions floating over multiple threads its hard for people to find straight answers.

read the details '‡6 month minimum term contract offer available for a limited period to new approved customers registering on either Mix & match 300 or 500 with either the LG U300 or 3 Skypephone. Free calls and chat are for Skype-to-Skype calls and chat messages made in the UK or while roaming on a participating sister network. Fair use policy and terms apply.'

its not available on the 12 quid plan as the OP states!!

it is an 18 month contract. you sign up for 18 months with a minimum term of 6 months, that means that after 6 months you can contact three and cancel your contract without any cancellation fees.

you get 20 quid from quidco. aleast I did, and i have got this deal twice.

the 20 quid accessory voucher comes with the phone and can be spent on the three accessories website, not much there for 20 but you can get headphones, batteries, cases etc.
#13
It does say its a minimum six month contract when you select the Skype phone.

However - when you try to buy it then says...

Contract Length

This tariff is an 18 month contract.

PS - if this link continues with my credit card details - try not to spend too much!

Dammit, I just bought this same deal instore, no quidco, no cashback, no free gift :-(

The 6 Month shows up on my receipt and is only available on the 300 (£15) and 500 (£18) minutes contracts.
#15
It came up too for the 12 quid contract - but same with the others disappears when you try to buy it and reverts to 18 months as I copied above.

Did anyone notice the 2 quid administration charge it adds for their starting an account for you?

Why do they think they should charge you for the priviledge of starting an account with them when all other companies dropped the charge years ago (remember - it was 30 quid you had to pay before you got a mobile contract in the 90s, long before anyone had though of PAYG and mobiles ran for 12 hours without charging).
#16
It was £35 connection back in the 90's - the £2 is more a security check - they probably dress it up as an admin fee to stop people asking for it back.
#17
I stand corrected on my earlier rant. Good deal then if its 6 months and all the cashbacks come through.

Anyway I love 3 now that they refunded me £70 for a £20 3g modem order that got cancelled! hehe
#18
is it £20 or £16 quidco?
#19
£20 for the Skypephone - I think the confusion arose because the OP took the £12 contract that pays £16 on Quidco
#20

Quite ironic that you should complain about their english.

Bearly ? do you mean barely ?

Writen ? possibly written ?

Exactly what I got for my Parents

Cancelled the VIP package on line but cannot cancel the insurance.

CPW say I do not have any insurance policies with them and no direct debits created - yet.

Thats what I was worried about, but it does say it is an 18 month contract - but with the added perk that you can drop out after 6 months.

So I'm guessing it should be OK!

I posted same deal before: http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/153844/skypephone-lg-u300-available-with-3

I have email from 3 saying that I can cancel/upgrade contract after 6 months. Anyone who gets this, should insist for same email from 3 customer care.

walked past a 3 shop yesterday and they had exactly the same offer posted for 6 months

"I’d like to confirm that though your contract term is for 18 months that ends on 4 September 2008, you’ll be eligible to cancel the contract or upgrade it without any charges once you complete 6 months on the contract.

Just to let you know that you’ll need to give us a call 30 days prior to the completion of 6 months terms to opt for a free upgrade. Cancellation of the account would also require a 30 days cancellation notice which can be given any time after 5 August 2008."

i find this all a bit misleading most are saying the cashbac applicable is (£16 for Mix and Match 100/ £12 promotional tariff ) this clearly cant be the case as this deal is for 300 minutes.

if this is the case then you should be getting (£32.50 for Mix and Match 300) quidco

some are reporting you get (£20 for Skype Phone) instead.

personally speaking i did buy the 18 month £20 1100 a month deal, but im returning it because quidco hasnt tracked and three are useless in even understanding the word quidco so im not rising it.

however ive just gone to the same £20 deal and chosen the skype phone (again minimum term contract is 6 months) and i can get the £20 deal for 1100 mix and match on this which seems better value to me.

if this is the case like my original deal i see no reason why quidco shouldnt track for (£62.50 for Mix and Match 1100) for the skypephone as ide be choosing the mix and match 1100 tariff. be great if someone could shead some light on this because if so this could be the best deal going, incorporated by the return a friend bonus which would be valid on this contract been an 18 month one technically.

it has to bee 300 or 500 you cant get the offer with 1100 T&G below

‡6 month minimum term contract offer available for a limited period to new approved customers registering on either Mix & match 300 or 500 with either the LG U300 or 3 Skypephone. Free calls and chat are for Skype-to-Skype calls and chat messages made in the UK or while roaming on a participating sister network. Fair use policy and terms apply.

hey basically i clicked on the 20 pound mix and match 1100 deal on main homepage then went through to skypephone column and chose that seing it stated minimum 6 months, i could see any other terms so would be interesting to know where you read them terms above. surely if it was tariff specific i would of thought it would of stated it when chosing handset or auto recognised it per tariff.

even if this excluses this tariff the quidco on offer on the mix and match 500 tariff isnt too bad if your looking for a short term 6 month contract, complete this with the accessory voucher and the 30 pound refer a friend bonus, you could be even more quids in compared to the original 300 tariff.

i find the quidco structure a bit weird when it comes to the skypephone as some are reporting its tracking at (£16 for Mix and Match 100/ £12 promotional tariff ) but in actual fact i would of thought the mix and match 300 tariff should of tracked at (£32.50 for Mix and Match 300 ). some are even claiming its just tracked at (£20 for Skype Phone) which i cant seem to understand as surely this is just pay as you go price.

be good to hear if anyones got the mix and match 500 tariff rate of (£47.50 for Mix and Match 500 and £15 Texter) or even better (£62.50 for Mix and Match 1100) cause to me that would be a bargain.

UPDATE: ive just double checked my procedures above for the mix and match 1100 tariff and in the promotions box it says:

FREE 3 Skypephone Black
Mobile detail 2 megapixel
256MB micro SD memory card
£7 Discount included above
6 month minimum term offer for limited period with the 3 Skypephone

surely to me thats accepting the £20 tariff, the minimum 6 months contract, and the quicco should track like the £20 a month deal on the 18 month contract at £62.50
#33
im really at loose ends with this one. ive been onto chat just and person says its only on the 300 and 500 tariff, however ive tried adding the 500 tariff and the phone and it says this in promotions:

6 month minimum term offer for limited period with the 3 Skypephone

i then chose the mix and match 1100 tariff and it says in promtotions box:

Promotion

*£7 Discount included above

6 month minimum term offer for limited period with the 3 Skypephone

to me that is clearly recognising the tariff i chose by deducting the £7 and then displaying the same terms for this phone. im temped to have a punt at this but need some confirmation as it could be a costly one if im tied to an 18 month contract on that tariff.

REE 3 Skypephone Black

as mix and match 1100 state

£7.00 off offer available from 3th March to the 30th April only and £7.00 reduction will be applied to the customer's bill monthly for as long as the customer remains on the Mix & Match 1100 tariff.

and only 300 or 500 say as its specific to them 2 plans

the above statement appears too be correct ive added both the 500 and 1100 tariff to basket and it went asfar as chosing phone and tariff to confirming choice then i noticed the 500 tariff one flashed 6 months limited contract before it said buy now. so this may be risky, but i still am a bit alarmed to why it let it go that far including the 7 discount.

Its clearly only the 300 and 500 plans - have a look at the Skypephone page.

If you look at the plan details - its only the 300 and 500 that have the following
[COLOR=Orange]‡6 month minimum term contract offer available for a limited period to new approved customers registering on either Mix & match 300 or 500 with either the LG U300 or 3 Skypephone. Free calls and chat are for Skype-to-Skype calls and chat messages made in the UK or while roaming on a participating sister network. Fair use policy and terms apply. [COLOR=Black]

The initial ad on the title page has a * indicating it is subject to some conditions.

The mix and match 100 £12 rate looks interesting.

£12x6 = £72
-£16 quidco
-£30 RAF
Leaves you with the contract and the skypephone for just £26! Then a £20 accessory voucher! Considering that for some quick minutes...
#39
Hi, I don't really use much minutes & usually text on-line, but would like to get a phone for some portable convenience. Also I need broadband wout land line, so becoming a 3 customer would allow me to take their 1/2 price special offer for mobile broadband?

Does this work 4 the £12 100 minute tariff -when i select the skype phone first, it shows the 6month opt-out, then does give me the £12 as an option...?

Also, if I cancel within 6mths, is the Skype phone unlock-able, so i may get a 3 pay-as-you-go sim and remain a 3 customer, hence continue to take advantage of the 3 mobile broadband offer?
thnks:thumbsup:
