Good price compared to elsewhere

1) Grab your starter kit 2) Plug into your PC or Mac 3) Jump on the web 4) Use it at home or on the move. This Broadband Starter Kit from 3 is loaded with 24GB data allowance. That's enough for 240 hours surfing the web, 24,000 emails, 768 x 4 minute music track downloads or 120 x 4 minute video downloads. Once it's all gone or your 24 months are up, just Pay As You Go.

Web exclusive product - This mobile broadband starter kit from 3 comes with a USB modem, pre-loaded with 24GB data allowance and is ready to go. It lasts up to 24 months, then you can top-up and pay as you go. Dongle in black.

Looks like a good deal - should be able to get 3% Quidco too?

Cold, you can get 15GB for £15 on 24 month contract at the moment. Or if you prefer 5GB for 1 month rolling contract. Much better value.

24GB in total over a 24 month period!? Thats pretty poor - no better than deals that already exist.

If you are with Three you maybe already have a data allowance - just use your phone as a modem...

It's not too bad a deal if you have a certain type of usage I think. If you regularly use 1gb+ each and every month, then yes, I think it's better to go for a contract. If you use a lot one month, then may not use again for a while, then the 1 month rolling contract is probably better. However, if you tend to use around 1gb a month, but sometimes have a month where you don't use much at all, it could be quite good - you have the flexibilty of using more in 1 month, but if the next you only use 100mb or so then the rest isn't wasted.

Complex, but probably suits certain types of people out there.

..but that's a £350 commitment..and for just browsing the web or emails 1GB is ample...this works out at £4.12 a month...horses for courses I guess.

That's £15 per month - great if you'r a heavy data user but it'll work out at £360. This deal compares favourably to 1GB/month deals for light users because:

A - it's cheaper (£7.50/month on 3)

B - if you use more than 1GB in any given month it's cheaper (10p per MB on a contract, this is only £4.12 per GB)

C- if you use less than 1GB in any month the extra is carried over, unlike a contract.

I used to have a 1GB/month deal on 3 for £5/month - this is a better deal

i use the 12gb for 12 months offers. I find that I only use it for occasional use with the laptop on the go. Most of the time i can find wifi and use that or quick searches on the iphone. you have UP TO 12 months to use the data, so if i use it up early, i just get another one and sell the dongle on fleabay. Only downside is that this sort of dongle is quite fragile and you have to look out for the faster dongles, not the older 3.6 speed ones some places are pushing out.

Jamie - it starts when you activate the product and ends at the end of the months it came with or if you use up the data first. I get speeds around 2 mb down and 1.5 up in an area where the home line is giving me 2.3mb down and .6 up :s all depends where the transmitters are

Argos currently have the 12 month T-mobile gift packs on clearance for only £101.99

They give you a 2GB allowance per month, once you have reached that you can't download between 4pm to midnight weekdays, but can still browse. There is no restriction on downloading outside of those times.

I picked mine up on special from Woolworths about eight months ago for about £60, added a Huawei wireless router from Currys for £20, and now have a completely mobile wifi network which I can take anywhere. I normally just leave it set up in the car but it only takes a couple of seconds to take out if the need arises.

Cheap price to pay to avoid using unsecured networks (_;)
