A Mobile Broadband Starter Kit is the best way to get broadband on the move or even replace your home connection. Theres no need for a landline and no contract to sign, and with speeds of up to 2.8Mbps, its just as fast as a fixed line with the added bonus that you can take it with you when youre using your laptop out and about.Mobile Broadband Starter Kits are preloaded with data that can last for up to 24 months. That means you can get going straight away theres no need to top up first. Once your data allowance is used up, all you need to do is top up again and you can go on using Mobile Broadband. The are 3 packs available3GB (3 months) enables you to:- Send 2000 plain text emails- Surf the web for 100 hours- Download 100 two minute videos- Download 200 music tracks12GB (12 months) enables you to:- Send 8000 plain text emails- Surf the web for 400 hours- Download 400 two minute videos- Download 800 music tracks 24GB (24 months) enables you to:- Send 16,000 plain text emails- Surf the web for 800 hours- Download 800 two minute videos- Download 1600 music tracks You will need to top up after you have used your data or time allowance (whichever comes first)

What are Broadband Starter Kits?
Broadband Starter Kits give you excellent value by buying your initial data up front so you have everything you need to get going with Mobile Broadband. Not only will you get one of our fabulous dongles, but you will get a SIM that is preloaded with the data amount you require, so all you have to do is put your SIM into your dongle, your dongle into your PC or laptop and you're off.

How much data do I get?
How much data you get and how long it is vaild for depends on which kit you decide to buy. For example 3GB will last up to 3 months, and 12GB up to 12, easy peasy. You can use our data usage calculator to give you a better idea of how much data you need.

What do I do when I've used up all my data?
After using up all your data, all you will have to do is buy a top up, and convert it to any of the Pay As You Go add-ons.

The modem supplied appears to be the USB E160G Stick Modem White which is £49.99 on the 3 website, so you get 12 months usage for £50 or £3.80 per month if you take Quidco into account..

Beats a pay as you go contract hands down if you're like me and don't need to use it every month as the data allowance carries over. You can use it alot during trips away from home, but don't feel inclined to use up an allowance because you're paying for it other months.

Interesting but don't count on quidco as three have refused me three times, 2 mobile contracts and mobile broadband.

:?

The deal's through Maplin not 3, so Quidco should be safe

same? deal in Carphone Warehouse .. for a 'bit'

£99... incl. the whole package ..

good and SAFE Quidco or TopCashBack as well !

Nevertheless the 3 Service .. coverage is 'good'

but speed is mostly appalling -- here in KENT e.g with FULL SIGNAL just ! 72kbps

never faster > 360 kbps

so, OK for £ 3.80?? per month ... (as a standby / redundant - reserve connection) :whistling:

Otherwise ... ? ... not really good ... and speed has NOT improved at all - over the last 10 months!! ins spite of the 'flowery talk' in the 3 shops and on their - often faulty ..INTERNET PRESENTATION

Be warned if you use Mozilla --

compatibility problems with '3' still persist!! [they are working on it ... for 10 months - by now }:santa:

I can't comment on the service as I haven't used any mobile broadband in this way before. I've been stuck using my mobile as a modem using an Orange sim so not HDSPA & very slow.

Excellent deal - I use a '3' payg modem, its absolutely brilliant when out on the road in hotels - much cheaper than using the £15 a day hotel charge. I only use it for web browsing and struggle to use the 1gb a month allowance for £10.

Sounds like a good deal esp if you go through Carphone W and Quidco. Only thing is - im being thick probably but the website makes it sound like its £99 startup fee then ANOTHER £15 AMONTH after. Can someone please clarify for me please?

Or direct me to the right product!

Surely the contract one at £5 for 1GB per month is better value. OK, it's an 18 month deal, but that works out at £90 for the whole term (plus £32 Quidco - subject to getting it obviously).

If you want the commitment it may be better, but I find that most of the time I have no need for mobile broadband so I resent paying for it every month. However if I'm away on holiday or a weekend break I want to be able to use the internet without worrying about going over my allowance. The beauty of this for me is that the data allowance carries forward and if I don't use it all one month then when I'm away the next month I've got the extra allowance to use & I'm not going to get a huge out of bundle bill.

Don't forget that you can get discount vouchers if you subscribe to the maplin newsletter: https://www.maplin.co.uk/Subscribe_Email.aspx? £3 off £50 spend and £7 off £100 spend (so find something for 1p) i believe.
