For existing customers of 3 mobile.

I took advantage of a previous deal 18 months ago for a 700min/text contract which was reduced from £20 to £12 a month.

As my contract was up, I enquired about a handset upgrade and was offered a 900 text, 900 minute and 2gb internet price plan for 12 months at £7 a month inc VAT keeping my original handset.

If your conract has recently expired like mine, this with an Orange San Fran (which I plan) is a pretty decent deal.

what about if your contract isn't up?
suspended#2
has this tariff got a name?
#3
Doesn't look like a standard tariff. I'm guessing if your contact isn't up, you're staying on that, but for people at the end of a contract who can negotiate a better deal through retentions it might be useful to know what other customers have been offered.
#4
I got via rententions and for reference only:

300 minutes or texts, 300 3to3 minutes, 2gb internet and a Nokia 5230 £5 a month on an 18 month contract.

After selling the phone its £30 for the 18 months.

Awesome deal but I cant see too many people qualifying for it...
#6
Great deal but still not quite as good (for me) as the old £5 a month retention...

unlimited texts, 300 mins, 30 MMS, 30 mins Video calls, and £5 free monthly downloads :o)

only 1gb data though :o(

you can get '1 Plan' sim only 12 month, which includes 2000 any-network min, 5000 sms, 5000 3-to-3 min and unlimited (yes, unlimited means unlimited, you can even use it as a mobile broadband with your comp) for £25/m with £106 quidco cashback that makes it £16/m.

That is what i plan to get in couple of month when my contact is to expire, however, i ll try negotiate tha offer above tomorrow as it is good as well
#8
I got the same deal as OP at the start of December. It was £8/month though....feel robbed!

It's a combination of 900 mins/text rather than 900 of each. I'm using mine with my Orange San Francisco too.... ;-)
#9
terrific deal! shame its with three but at least i'd probably get a signal with them unlike orange!
#10
Are you sure you can use a 3 sim in an Orange Phone?? my experience says you cant. I'll be eligible for an upgrade from tomorrow, do you think I'll be able to negotiate a deal like that? Voted Hot by the way, and THREE all the way.

Only thing with 3 is the handset you use......if it's not locked to 3 then chances are they will block any other network handset you use. Which takes the orange san fran out of the equation. Otherwise this is a cracking deal.

I was with Orange had a good deal and when they starting merging with T-mobile my signal in my excellent rated area just went very poor, kept dropping calls and had repeatedly attempt send txts i kept going on at them onto head office and got contract cancelled...
Wouldn't mind both Orange and T-mobile was good beforehand even after they merged signal still was poor.

Im now with Three and signal is way better where i am at least :) as for the deal posted its more a cancellation team offer than a deal for all imo.

Good deal, but terrible customer service.

Would vote cold on customer service alone even with a deal like this. But its not what the site is about.

Are those minutes and texts for 3 to 3 customers only? Or 3 to any other UK network? This deal is amazing... signal is the other setback for me.
#18
Any network, you get 5000 3 to 3

i went on a 12 month contract with 3, was meant to get £52 quidco and it got declined, so £106 cashback realistic? or was i unlucky?

Tried it myself, had a 3 sim (contract) bought a samsung genio on the vodafone network then got it unlocked. A week later 3 sent a message stating they will block the 3 sim working on the same handset (and they did).

That is strange, 3 only block non 3g capable phones. Just did a quick google on the Samsung Genio and apparently it is a 3g phone so I honestly don't know :S If it helps anyone out there, I too am using a San Fran on 3 and have had no problems at all. Also considering how they advertise on their own website encouraging you to transfer to their network from other Pay as you go providers I highly doubt they would block non 3 locked phones...
#25
When I went to get the phone unlocked from the phone shop the guy told me that only the 3 network do this. He said it could be blocked anytime a week, a month or a year. Also I have come across quite a few phones people sell stating that the phone comes unlocked on all networks apart from 3.
#26
I was also offered this deal 2 weeks ago.

Just want to mention that three is probably the best network in the UK in terms of both customer service and coverage, been with them for 4 years and they have been very good to me.
When i went over my data allowance and ran up a bill of £42 they credited my account that much and gave me an additional 4GB of data for free.
#27
Right, I believe is mix & match. You have either 900 units of texts or minutes.
#28
I got the one plan for £6 a month on my upgrade

I don't think its advertised on the website as the OP enquired about a headset upgrade when they were made this offer (its all in the text)...

I'm on similar plan for past 17 months. It's time to upgrade, but in my experience only the retention team will give the best offer.

Back in June last yr I got 500 anytime mins, 100 text and 2gb Internet for £5 a month over 18 months- they even threw in a Samsung that was on Android, the Portal S I think, which I got £160 for.
I'm now using my sim in an iPhone 4 I bought outright.

I'm havig the same problem with orange, yet all i get is people in indian call centres who tell me nonsense and deny theres a problem, I can't get through to anyone, they keep trying to charge me fo getting out of my contract an don't offer any money off my bill, the service with them is awful. Ive got a 3 sim in my ipad now and they're brilliant.

Who did you talk to ??? Did you have a phine number ? Cheers

Interesting! I called them last year twice around that time and couldnt get any thing less than £10 (that was with no internet). Time to call them again.

my daughter upgraded her phone contract b4 amas for £15 a month and got the following
unlimited internet
5,000 3 to 3 calls
3,000 any network calls
2,000 text messages
and a htc wildfire phone.
good deal or what.

This isn't a valid offer. This is causing a few complaints at Three also as I've spoken to one of their advisors who have passed this onto legal but as it's user-submitted nothing can be done.

MASSIVE cold rating from me. Don't waste your time.

sorry but thats rubbish, i have been with 3 since launch and always use generic handsets. they only blocked the signal from standard gsm phones as the handset would be forced to roam on orange or o2 which costs 3 roaming charges, as long as the phone is a 3g handset, unlocked and not stolen no probs. yes you wont be able to get the 3 software like skype etc but i dont use them anyway

Why is it causing complaints at Three? People have every right to talk about how much they are paying for their contract.

After my experience with Three I wouldn't go near them even if it was a pound a month, terrible customer service and completely unreasonable if you have a problem with your phone.
