The 300 mins or text deal is only £20 per month before deductions. Could make it an attractive choice for some...well spotted.

Refer a friend, although to be picky, 3 call it 'Recommend a Mate' as well as 'refer a friend'.

If the mate buys a phone and a contract then each party gets £45 of credit. I don't know if you can get this off your bill or what....

Does anyone know if you can refer yourself?

Nokia N95 on Mix & Match 300 works out at £18.19 a month after £32.50 quidco. That's without £30 for RAF.

The credit is applied to your account, so any charges on your monthly bill will be deducted from this amount first.

Postcard,

Thanks for that. So, effectively you'd be getting a month or so for free. That's not bad at all! The temptation is certainly there!

But - do you know if you can refer yourself as a friend to get the benefits?

It appears you'd receive £30 if signing up with an 18 month contract. The extra £15 (making the total £45 which Three advertise) is from signing up with a broadband contract.

I'm not too sure about the credit for referring yourself, although I couldn't see anything in their T&C's which say otherwise. Just states new customers. Would be best to check with Three themselves.

Yeah, I realise I misread the £15 bit, since I'm at work and just skimming over things when I get the chance to...but £30 is still £30!

My g/f's phone, which I pay for, is with o2 and she gets a measly 100 mins + 100 messages / month for £20, so this would give more minutes and a nice, new phone for the same cost, or less if you factor in quidco + RAF, if that works out.

And it's a slow Friday afternoon...so you know... I might take the plunge.

Remember you can also get a £20 accessory voucher code by speaking to a Three rep online :)

Indeed but that's £180 more in the long run.

Having thought about it it might not be a bad deal, just the contract length puts me off tbh. But I guess no faffing about with sending back for cashback.
#14
How do you get the free £20 accessory online?
#15
Just go onto the site and chat to the operator and ask them for the code

I wouldn't say it was a lot better, it has some improvements and also what some would consider to be not so good. For instance, the new one doesn't have a removeable/replaceable memory card, and nor does it have a cover for the camera lens.

This one has a removeable memory card, so you can buy an 8GB card and put it in, or take it out and use like a USB key (great for quick copying stuff on to it). The new 8GB one has fixed 8GB you can't take out or add any more.

This one has a protective camera lens cover, the new 8GB one hasn't.

The new 8GB has more memory available for running several applications at the same time.

The new 8GB one has a slightly larger screen (0.2 inch).

The new 8GB one has a slightly different case design, black instead of silvery/grey with a flush screen instead of inset and more proud buttons.

I think there are other things but nothing much. If you already have the old one you probably wouldn't rush to upgrade to the 8GB one.

i'm getting really cheesed off with 3. they have all these good deals on the go now just 5 months into suckering me into a 24month £35 a month contract. I clearly asked them at the time if this was the best deal they had (ie TalknText 900 (750mins talk and 150text) - never mentioned any of the other deals and told me it was definately the best option. i have been with them a while and I spoke to them a few months ago asking why i wasnt told about their mix n match deals but they told me they werent on the go at that time (but having read these various threads of late I doubt their honesty). I want to find a way to get out of this damned thing now.

Do you really expect them to say "oh yeah, you can have something really similar for £10 per month less!!"?? :?

Three are financially ****ed, hence these desperate deals.

I can confirm that 8gb cards work in the N95 I have one in mine.

This does seem like a good deal to me. I have been with three for over 3 years and due an upgrade. I hope they offer me a good deal again.

Also 3 customers get mobile broadband for half price! I get the 7gb package for £12.50 a month.

Yeah good points. It does seem slicker than the original n95 as it's not so obviously made of plastic. However I think enlarging the screen that little bit has pushed the 320x240 resolution to its limit and from comparison and use i think it actually looks a little stretched in the 8gb version.
My friend managed to get the n95 black 8gb on a 18 month contract with 500 mins and unlimited texts on three, but you just gotta haggle for long enough really.

Make careful note of the unique code you get at the end of ordering, you'll need this for Quidco tracking quieries. Mine had tracked fine (for over 2 weeks) and I recieved and was using the phone, so I discarded the code, plus I had customer and order reference numbers.
Then 3 just cancelled my Quidco claim as being 'Not valid'. Without that unique code they won't even investigate any claim.
Bit of a con really as there's plenty of other proof/reference. Why they just cancelled the claim as well, I'm unsure and very annoyed.

This network does not have UK customer service they are all based in India, so beware before you buy
