Before anyone posts to say they can download data faster on their landline based internet connection, I know that. This is great for those occasions when you have your laptop (or netbook in my case) away from home and neeed to look something up or send an email.

Only 8 left now, so someone else obviously agrres this is good value!

Would anyone who voted cold please tell me where they can get it cheaper as I spent a considerable length of time finding this price? At least leave a reason; it's only good manners. :)

I haven't actually voted either way, but there's been a lot of disucssion re the 3-contracts as little as £5.00 amonth with the 'dongle' thrown in it seems. Maybe that's where the confusion lies.

you don't quote the cost of the data transfer or initial allowance so difficult to assess.

Thanks for posting, don't be put off posting by a few early cold votes - seeme to be the trend here for some reason before a good deal heat up. cheers

Thank you to those who had the decency to leave a message. It IS very discouraging to a new poster to see their deal go up to 9 and then plunge below freezing without any reason given.

I am aware of the debate going on elsewhere on HUKD regarding contracts, but I don't want to tie myself into one of those. I am not sure how much data is included with this (if any) which is why I didn't include it. :?

I think the reason this isn't hot is that this price isn't amazing. For example, you can get it here for a little over £45 delivered ... saving about £3.50 on your price.

With the greatest respect, how do you know this is a good deal then ? Cost of data transfer could be exceptionally high.

Because I am hoping it is a Starter Pack similar to this (whish is out of stock):

http://www.oyyy.co.uk/product.php/73616/

You will see from the description there that it comes pre-loaded with 12 Gb of data which is ideal for my limited needs. I will report back when mine arrives.

o2 PAYG mobile broadband is £29.99 for the modem if you have o2 3G coverage in your area.....

No usage included, minimum £10 top up required for 1gb of data.

There are 3 versions of this item available on the high street, this 1 with no included data allowance, 1 which includes 3gb of data and another with 12gb of data, ranging from £45 to £95 - £100

Uh ohh...:?

Let us know if that's the case when it arrives please. If it is 12 gig to use in a year then I'll get one ! Handy to have.

cheers

Thank you for this information. I am not as "up-to-date" as you are in this field! I am going to look pretty silly if it turns out to be a stick without any data transfer allowance. If it is, I shall return it under the "cooling off" period allowed under Distance Selling regulations.

I will post here one way or the other when it arrives.

Hey Dink ! Any news on the version yet ?

cheers

Seems you can get these starter kits with either 0gb, 3gb or 12gb allowance. Not voting on this as 0gb = bad deal, 3gb = okayish, 12gb = excellent deal! Would definitely buy with the 12gb, interested to hear when yours arrives.

Still haven't received it but I will post when it arrives.

The device arrived today (Wednesday, 10th December).

I am sorry to report that it does not have ANY data pre-loaded on it. This makes my deal a bad one (as pointed out by some folks in this thread).

I am sorry to have wasted your time, albeit unintentionally. The way the description was worded in the seller's website lead me to believe I was buying the Retail Starter Package which does come with 112 Gb pre-loaded. On closer examination, I can now see that it says "Retail PACKED".

I shall be returning the device under the two week "cooling off" period allowed for distance selling and advise anyone else who purchased this to do the same.

Once again, I apologise for any inconvenience caused.

All the best :santa: Baz
