Seems a good deal to me, do i have to have a freeview box with a card slot?
#2
Id think so...
#3
To get quidco - yes as you would need to subscribe online. You can subscribe without a slot but you have to do it by phone. I have no idea that works tho but it does as i did it for PPV last year!
#4
pity the offer is not for sky also

but you can get 3 months for £5 if you are a Sky customer.

Same deal as for freeview, except it is £15 (but you do get 8 channels !), minus the £10 Quidco payment.

Yes

I myself have an Panasonic 42" integrated digital plasma tv (IDTV), and will have to buy a cam card, that fits into slot in back of tv, to allow setanta viewing card to fit.
These are hard to get from anywhere else but Setanta sell them for £30
I spoke to salesman in panasonic shop and was told that they do not actually sell them and they were hard to get from anywhere else but £30 was a good price
#7
Do they send you out the card that you need to go in the slot, do you need some cam thing as well as the viewing card?
#8
I too have an integrated-freeview digital tv (Philips) and if I need a card, would you inform me dave150 where I can get this "card"?
#9
I thought that RacingUK was part of the Setanta Sports pack?
According to the offer page ...

Sports on Setanta
Premiership Football
PGA Tour Golf
Rugby
GAA
Scottish Football
NASN

If they have 'ripped' RUK out of the offer package, then it isn't quite as hot as it looks. Being that RacingUK is the premium component in most people's eyes. I'd take it with RUK, but I couldn't give a toss about the other stuff, including the Hatton fight and the football.
It might be worth racing fans clarifying that point with Setanta.

How do you come to that conclusion exactly, footballs got to be the most watched and popular..........

I for one would have Football and Boxing over racing, and I know plenty others, so think Racing may be a premium conponent in your own eyes.

Before you phone setanta to order you`re subs, simply try and insert a credit sized card into back of your tv
Also check your manual for tv if you can find it

If card will not fit in, as slot is too big, then you will need a cam card.

Inform Setanta when you phone them and they will offer to sell you one for £30

I was offered this when they phoned me with offer around a month ago, unfortunately it never arrived, and when I phoned them 2 weeks later to ask why was told they had no details of me in their system .
I told them to forget it as footy season was finished, but I may take up offer now through quidco and then phone them direct to order cam card

Ps Setanta is only place I know where you can get card from

That may be true, but the premiership doesn't start up again until August. Until then, RUK beats golf and rugby hands down. Of course, again, that may just be my opinion. But the main point is do you get RUK as part of this offer?

Yes realise what your highlighting, I'm not sure, knowing Setanta it's probably not part.

I am wondering about this cam card thing, I have a Freeview PVR with 2 x CI slots and the TV itself has 1 or 2 slots on the side, I thought they were all standard and you always needed to be supplied with a cam card
#14
Who exactly said anything about the English Premiership when they mentioned Setanta's offering of football, I think you will find they offer a far broader spectrum of football than just the Premiership!!

Thanks. It appears you do. That's hot then :)
£5, with Quidco, for three months of Setanta is good.
#17
Hey Scribbles, yes you should get Racing UK with cable & satellite subscriptions and I agree with your comments, makes the package worthwhile as it was £20 per month for RUK alone not so long ago - shame there are still a few more months til the jumps season starts proper ;-)
Unfortunately you only get a single 'compilation' sports channel on freeview which I consider a p***-take compared to the 9 channels you get with the cable & satellite subscription :x
Voted hot tho.
#18
Can I subscribe to this without having the freeview cam/card etc yet.

Dont seem to be able to sign up for the deal, has the page changed from before?
#19
can someone please tell me what time the ricky hatton fight starts?

probably about 6 in the morning our time perhaps
#20
Just registered my interest (I've got Sky) but it appears they have to call me back to confirm - so lets see if the quidco cashback actually happens or not....still voted hot tho.....

You don't actually need to wait for them to call back. All I did was enter via Quidco, and then click on top left "Subscribe Today", and click on the box "Subscribe Online Now".

You will need your Sky viewing card number and a little later on in the process you will get a checkbox to tick for the Hatton promotion.

Was viewing Setanta within 30 minutes and my £10 Quidco is tracked. I also phoned Setanta to confirm that my account was indeed showing as on the Hatton promotion, and it was.

3 months for £5 and no 12 month contract. Great offer.

Cheers,
Kevin.
#23
Available for Sky or Freeview, but not for us on VM :(
#24
Not sure if Quidco will track as its "completed online", for freeview they call you back so it's not completed online?
#25
Freeview it appears requires a £10 activation fee unlike sky which is free.
#26
I am registering online and have just got to a page that is asking me which package i want.
Ricky Hatton 2 Months Free GB £15.00 Setanta Sports Pack 2 Months Free £15.00
It also says:
All new subscriptions are subject to a 12 month minimum contract period.

What is the difference with the packages and WTF with the 12 month contract thing.Deffo said early that no 12 month contract lock in.:?
#27
Choose the Ricky Hatton 2 months free option (this is the one with NO 12 month contract).

Don't worry about the 12 month contract thing, the Hatton offer T&C's supercede this. You can always do like I did and print off a copy of the Htton T&C's later, but I don't think you'll need them.

Kevin.

It would be a good idea to edit the listing to show that it actually costs £10.99 when you include the activation fee.

suggest you all wait til sunday so you get the weekend of september 15-16-17 included as opposed to it finishing midweek

You would need two subscriptions to Setanta to show it in two rooms. Someone asked this question a while ago on another forum I frequent.
