Spain's cosmopolitan capital is an ideal escape for weary Brits in the spring, and Broadway Travel has launched this exclusive deal for travel in March: flights and three nights' accommodation for £129 per person -- that's a 45% discount.

Guests will stay at the 3-star Principe Pio Hotel, on a room-only basis. The hotel is in the heart of the city, opposite the Royal Palace, with the historic Plaza de Espana and the upmarket shopping district of Gran Via a few minutes' walk away.

Madrid is on average five degrees warmer than the UK in March and hosts its annual Night of the Theatres festival for the whole month. Theatre venues throughout the city offer cut-price tickets to some of their biggest events and costumed performers entertain passers-by with street shows.

Departures are available from Luton on 5, 9, 15, 19 March and from Stansted on 4, 5, 9, 10, 15-17 and 23 March.

For a £10 supplement, travellers can depart from Liverpool on 1, 19, 21 and 22 March; Luton on 16, 20 and 23 March; London Gatwick on 5, 7, 14-17, 23 March; and Stansted on 12 and 24 March. Departures from Bristol on 20 and 21 March, Luton on 28-30 March and Stansted on 30-31 March are available for an extra £20. Book by 9 February.

Go and see the baby pandas in Madrid Zoo :D
Read the hotel reviews , not one i'd want to stay at I quote
"You can see it was once a high class hotel, with its classical and detailed decor, big rooms, priviledged view to the palace. Today, it serves for more budget travelers, losing part of its charm apparently for poor maintenance."
