Try the Midland Hotel at Morecambe, better than just about anything you'll find on the Costa Brava. Shame its not as cheap but for a stylish break its hard to beat. Morecambe is ace as long as you look out across the bay.

I went last year, family of 4 for 950 for 2 weeks.

It was hot and as long as your not in solu its canny enough to chill out.

:thumbsup:Cheaper from Bournemouth International Airport - £64. Went to Hotel Merce in May last year and was excellent value for money. Pineda is a lovely, typically Spanish town and is ideal for day trip to Barcelona. Have booked for a 3 day trip at end of April.

Has someone seriously recomended a holiday in Morecombe? Must be joking. Im born and raised in Blackpool and now studying far too close to Morecombe (im at Lancaster Uni) and let me tell you, these are two of the most awful towns ive ever had the misfortune to see :|

I know Morecambe is not the best of places (I was born in the Queen Victoria), which is why I only suggested staying at the Midland Hotel and to look out over the bay. The view can take some beating and the hotel is an architectural gem. There are worse places to spend a break.......

Yes booked 3 nights from Bournemouth at end of April to Pineda. Ok , must admit there are add ons (Ryanairs!!) but £200 all in for two people for three nights in Spain cant be bad. We could have got away with it cheaper still but paid by credit card for security reasons and paid for one checked suitcase - I cant survive with just a toothbrush! Have also stayed at the Hotel Merce last Spring and for the price I couldnt fault it, as long as you are not going for the night life.

Not sure that's all that good a deal to be honest with you.I have booked everything myself to Pineda before twice and never paid more than around £700 for a week for 2 adults and 2 kids and later in the year when it would be more(and during school holidays):)

Dont think thats a fair comparison. Anyway, could have got 6 nights for extra £30 each but didnt have time to spare.
