Giffgaff's unlimited internet is LIMITED to mobile internet but not for the purpose of home broadband!

Don't rely on cashback -especially from 3/three.

3/Three seem to be one company on quidco (from feedback in the community moan zone) that do their upmost not to pay up (rejected -affliated to other network etc), so think twice before clicking the link above (from hotukdeals), if you don't want the cashback being paid to hotukdeals, rather than you. No one can really pin it down. Stories of people taking out addtional products seems to cancel out existing cashback due to you in the system, so if you still have cashback due, I'd wait.

Companies have started to use Adobe Flash to store visits to sites, in additon to cookies in the browser.
Always clear your Adobe Flash Settings/History which also stores 'cookies', if possible, change your ip address if you have a dynamic ip (it then looks like a completely new visit-assuming the last person using that ip address wasn't visiting 3/Three!)

Reset your browser (I tend to use Safari, easily reset to default in settings), use one session, don't browse any other website or have browsers open. Always allow pages to load fully, before clicking links to 3/Three. Complete the transaction as quickly as possible.

If you don't understand any of the above - don't expect the cashback from 3/Three.

And of course- if you love hotukdeals, just go through the link above and give them the cashback!

Would be handy if you could point me in the direction of the £10 a month deal that includes 'All-you-can-eat Data'.

I got £70 cashback last year off them no problem.... guess i must have been lucky

Got this package yesterday with my new phone - Desire HD 8) - and it seems like a storming deal considering the data allowance is truly unlimited, and they have no problem with tethering etc.

voted hot im using this too, the capbabilty is so much better than other service provider in the same aera as where im living. i have used this since the 4th this month and is half a month i have already used up 6gb, not that im trying to abused the network (i have got a home boardband but i need good interent outdoor at times), im testing it out and frequendly reporting to 3 blog , at the first week or so throttling seems bad after it passes 1gb, on the 21th they have apply a fix on it, and boom here you go average of 2mb slowest at 0.9-1.1mb and fastest at 4.2mb depends where you are and what time you used it. (before the fix was constantly below 1mb) so the slowest so far is at 5-9 at night. Fastest speed is in the midnight. Put this sim in you android it turn into a wireless ap! you can hook it up with anything. I have tried to hook up ps3 and played black ops 2-3 bars no problem and mario kart wii no lag :) so here you go for £25 is a deal breaker and especially with all the minites and text, if you want to get it i suggest you check out your aera speed first!

Does this definitely apply to the SIM Only "One Plan" deal?

Or is the £106 cashback for when you take out a 12/18/24 month phone contract on the One Plan?

Important fact to remember with 3 once in contract

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE PLANET

If you have problems expect nothing beyond "have a wonderful day"
#18
The trick with 3 customer services is not to bother... just take your phone into a shop and they can usually sort it there and then.

nothing special really.

Whatever, this is the best sim only deal around. And as other people are stating, 3 are a brilliant provider. I've been with them a couple of years and haven't had any issues. My work phone is with Orange and the coverage is nothing compared to 3.

Quick comparison of other similar priced sim only deals to show why this is something special:

O2 - 900 minutes, unlimited texts, 750mb data - £25.53 per month
Vodafone - 1200 minutes, unlimited texts, 500mb data, £25.53 per month
Orange - 600 minutes, unlimited texts, 500mb data, £25.64 per month

Inclusive minutes and texts are for UK mobiles and landlines beginning 01, 02, 03. 08 / 070 numbers cost up to 20p per call plus 20p per minute / £1 per call plus 70p per minute respectively. For details see the Price Guide at three.co.uk/priceguide or the number checker three.so.uk/nts. You can't use your internet allowance to use your phone as a modem. Inclusive voicemail is to Three's standard voicemail number. SIM is for use in a 3G handset only. SIMs used in a 2G handset will be disconnected. Terms apply see three.co.uk

You can't use it as a modem (as in put the SIM in a dongle), but you can use it to tether the connection and share it out to your other devices.

So if you have an iPhone (for example) running 4.3 software, you will be able to share the connection to another device (or devices), such as an iPad, laptop etc.

Excellent deal - shame about the Network "3"...

but we're voting on the deal.. not network so heated added from me...

good find! :)

Thats the old t&c they probably havent updated them yet. The One Plan does allow tethering now.

3 switched my contract to this plan 2 weeks ago and its fantastic. For what you get in my opinion this is an absolute steal compared to other networks. Yes the customer service may be lacking but their HSPDA and 3G coverage are far better then any other network i've used.

Contrary to the comments about how bad the customer service is, I'm on 3 and had excellent customer service, in fact they have gone far beyond what I would expect. I know it used to be bad but my experience is that they have improved massively.

Good deal, shame network coverage is awful.
#32
Scorching deal - not enough to tempt me away from O2 though!
#33
Wish I wasn't in a year contract with Vodafone still, going to move to Three again, was with them a few years back and had excellent service and prices with them, just the phone selections were bad but now going to buy the phones offline.
#34
Explicitly informed me yesterday that tethering is allowed. Usual caveats of no p2p, no using it as a server and no running an internet based business, but that's it.

You're obviously not a customer of 3.

I'm a real advocate of 3, people moan about them but they're usually people who've never tried them. As I said before I've been with them for a few years and they've been spot on. Excellent customer service and the coverage is perfect. I've often had much better signal than my friends on different providers.

I recently upgraded to iphone4 and they do the best/cheapest packages for those too.

3 FTW!
#36
It's very strange - I've never related to any of the comments whenever a three deal comes up.

Never had a problem with customer services, gone through several upgrades, and changes of contract.
Network Coverage has been the big winner with me, which is why I've stayed with them, even when more tempting offers came along from the other providers There are places I roam where vodafone and orange have no call capability at all. Even in the scootish islands, up mountains etc and otherwise 'dead zones' in some towns I visit.

Obviously, some people will be in a vast area where I never have been and have the reverse experience, but I wonder if some of the regular commentators are basing it on experience. (customer services I'm willing to admit could be just luck of the draw, but then the same could be true of many companies)
I wonder if some of

Very cheap for what you are getting if they honour the unlmited internet and you use it all.

I was with 3 for years they are fine as long as you dont have a problem. If you do god help you.

Keep in mind you cant use their sims with most factory car kits, reception is still pachy in areas (why I left) They will rip you off big time when you leave, they charged me £40 data in 1 day for 32mb use when one of my contracts was canceled. £15 to unlock a handset I had paid a contract on for 18 months. Most decent networks just give you he code free in such circumstances now. Also its a nightmare when you come to leave getting a puc code etc.

Buyer beware, personally I am much happier now on tmobile 3gig internet, 600 minutes, 500 texts and unlimited local calls for £7.50 a month. If you use all your internet allowance they dont rip you off at £2 per 2mb unlike 3 they just throttle it.

Brilliant coverage you get Orange and Tmobile masts plus 3 as well for data. It works with my vw car kit and customer service is spot on.

If you love Indian call centres, then 3 is the one for you
#40
old news but damn is it good news!
if i needed that much usage id be on it. dont moan about 3 customer services - a lot of the time the guys in Mumbai are atually very polite and helpful. If your experience is otherwise, find a good local store - they guys there tend to be even better. Plus a lot of the call centres are gradually moving over to South Africa.
