Have some heat from me :D paying £7.0 with Voda at moment anad to be honest hardly use that much non WIFI but prefect for those non wifi occasions.
#2
great price and gives you great flexibility when you need more mobile broadband or if your current supplier is only g band in that area
#3
So once the 1gb data is used how much to topup after that?
#4
Don't top it up, use a new one, so £3.75 each month.

My Orange data limit is half a gigabyte pm, costing £5 a month. I only use it as a backup, when my satellite service is down, so this deal would be better than a regular contract. Unfortunately, "Britain's Best Mobile Broadband network" doesn't have any coverage out here in the countryside, so it's no go.

Pardon my ignorance as I'm clueless when it comes to all things wi-fi, but with this sim card will I be able to access the internet on my wireless-enabled laptop in non-wi-fi areas?

No, I dont :(

Hot, but somebody posted on the 3GB version that it isn't the right size for the iPad, worth noting if you intending to use it for that purpose (Don't know myself, can anyone confirm?)

A friend bought the 3gb sim had to cut it down to size, works fine, just nervy cutting down.

Ive cut down 2 sims in the past and they have worked ok, found it best to draw round the outline of the proper microsim and then chop it!

No, I dont :(

Then you need to buy a wireless dongle - basically an adapter that you put this sim card into then plug into a USB socket on your laptop. You will then be able to connect to the internet in areas where you can get a decent '3' signal.

we got one on ebay for 6.85 for three months for 3g
#18
is this expired? cant find it at that price from that seller...a few pence for at another seller though.

i had no idea you could buy these sims, there i was topping up per month if i wanted more access.

thanks op.
#19
Is there an 'activate by' date on these? I appreciate they last up to three months (depending on data usage) once activated, but is it possible to stockpile a few and use them in a few months/years?

Got them for a fiver at the moment, not the best deal but have a £50 gift card to use with them so may just get a bunch!
#24
Wow, brilliant. Ordered mine. Thanks, heat added.:D
#25
Its cheaper than topping up even.. Surely 3 must see people doing this and go though alot of sims - surely better just to give good deals ?! Maybe my logic is flawed!
#26
Sounds good and worth a trial run for a month.

The amazon seller is likely making a loss on the intial sale of the sim, but picks up a decent commission when (and if) these are actually first topped up. As long as few people top up they will probably still make a profit in the long run.

I got some of those recently for my iPad.

I was paying 3 £7.50 per month, then I saw those and grabbed 4 at £8 each, so at £2.60 a month you can't go wrong!

So it works out about £32 for the year now, as opposed to the £84 I was paying 3. (_;)

They are valid for a month after you put them in a phone/dongle/tablet.

great deal but no coverage in Enniskillen. Shame

Yes. Go To Three`s website and then look for coverage. input your postcode and see if you are covered. Wifi has nothing to do with this. but you will need a dongle to use this.

I want to ask you guys something! Can i use this on my android? I'm going to UK next month and would like to use for gmaps/voip etc.. and still get a +44 number while in london.

I have a orange number when I'm in london its better than maybe top it up with some data plan?
#37
i purchased one of the 3gb ones, totally the wrong size for the ipad, so i carefully cut it down and the bloody thing still does not work, the ipad will not even pic the sim card up?
#38
Ended. Price now over £5 per sim.

Cheers

wheres the best place to buy a dongle from, and does it have to be brand matching, ie, 3simcard uses only 3 dongle...
#40
Vapourand, Argos have the three dongle for £19.99 PAYG with 1GB of data allowance on it, or you can get the latest MiFi router for £39.99 via the '3' site on a one month £15.99 contract with 5GB per month data allowance. You can give notice on day one and thus just pay for one month (whilst enjoying the 5GB allowance), then use the cards in this thread or on ebay as PAYG. The total initial outlay for the MiFi becomes about £55 vs £71 buying PAYG on the '3' site. Depends if you want a dongle or would find the MiFi router more useful.
