Virgin poster go easy eh!
International calls from 3 payg phones, 1min minimum charge, use 3 digit country code from site in front of number, eg. USA code 424, 3p/ min landlines, 3p/min mobiles

so not fair that it is cheaper to call any of these countries from a PAYG mobile based in the UK than it is to call a mobile or landline in the UK !
#3
Great deal! It is about time that international call prices have been cut Only a few countries at the moment so I am hoping that 3 will add a few more soon
#4
I am completely baffled as to how they can charge 20p/min for UK landlines/mobiles, but only 3p/min for the USA... :?

And it doesn't include any european countries apart from Poland. But still hot!

This is cheap if you make the very odd rare international calls to those limited countries but if you spend more than £5.00 a call to one country within a month then O2 International Friends & Family bolt on offer much more choice of countries & you can call up to 5000 mins p/month either 1x foreign landline/mobile number plus you also get 1x international phone number for your loved ones to call your UK mobile number & they will be charged at local call.

I got a vectone mobile sim uk calls all 5p ,internations calls from 2p, roams on the t-mobile network
#12
This is just being offered cheap because 99% of customers wont use it. As most calls will be to national landlines or mobiles they are better off making the money there.
#13
I use Lebara - it is a pay-as-you-go sim card system ( I kept my original mobile number too). It works via the vodaphone network so has good coverage.

Most countries are 4 pence per minute and they frequently have special offers (e.g. buy £20 of top-up credit get £10 free). I realise that this is not as cheap as other services but I have used it for over 2 years now with no problems.

Wow - did not know that!

Great deal for US calls! HEAT+ Thanks OP.

Pretty good deal if you're calling these overseas countries!

By 2015, cross-network mobile calls in the UK is set to be cheaper, as the amount networks charge each other to connect will be reduced. So we should see better deals for calls within the UK over the next few years.

All the 3 phones I have are Skype compatible. Also, from what I remember - Internet (Skype) is free even on pay as you go phones. What I do is credit my Skype account and use it to call internationally from my phone. No dialling extra numbers... just go onto my contact list and press the call button. USA/ Canada costs 1p/min I think.

Another tip - minimum credit topup is £10 , but I wasn't sure if I would like the service or not. So I changed the currency to dollars, and credited $10 (so about £5). Thought I would mention in case it helps anyone.

1.4p/min Poland , UK Landlines , USA/ Canada , China

.... 16.6p/min UK Mobiles

vectone is a con, advertised at 1p/pmin weekends, and the 5p uk calls has a connection charge. Lyca mobile £10 top-up get extra £7.50, additional 40mins free to your destination, 100min free to uk landlines, and free lyca to lyca. and then you have the £30 credit leftover to use to your destination....

That's intersting twyzt. I too have a 3 Skype PAYG phone and was under the impression that breakout Skype calls to landlines or mobiles would not work in this way? i.e. the Skype calls go through 3's servers and they put the kibosh on cheap international Skype calls in this way.
#26
I have a Skype out subscription for Thailand which includes mobiles and I call from my 3 mobile (PAYG) and never pay 3 anything. The £10 they gave me when I joined still have £8 left.

You can have it logged in multiple places as my Skype account is permanently logged in on my PC.

After Topcashback (check if subscriptions are currently rebated) the year cost me about £25 and it has saved hundreds. The problem with the 1p a minute stuff is that they charge a set up fee whereas with Skype, if it is a bad line, you just cancel and start again.

The only thing you cannot do is use a subscription from Skype for the UK to call free from a 3 handset. However, if you get an unlimited data package, you can use Skype on a non 3 phone as an application to access your subscription and call UK landlines (not mobiles) for free.

no you can use skype to call actual phones, landlines and mobiles but for this you need to credit your account.

#35
lol @ the post above:p
#36
Please note that it works only for some countries....For example no Italy, France or Spain. Most of countries are missing and I suppose that is why for some of you is not working. Use skype out instead if you have already a 3 mobile.

Yes but free facebook, msn and skype. Bet many parents with teenagers will be happy, as they can buy a cheap handset and their kids can use the main sites for free!
