I have these exact sockets and remote (though bought from Maplin about 18 months ago). I live in a three floor Victorian house and can operate switches in the kitchen and livingroom from the top floor study. So I think the range is pretty good, but I seem to remember that the outdoor range was between 50 - 60 metres.

This is NOT the sort of equipment you want to be using in any "outdoor" location, a greenhouse is far too wet/humid at times to use this sort of electrical equipment safely!

Wasn't thinking of actually putting it inside my greenhouse! I'd have it in the house connected to my outside power socket =o

In which case check what wattage it can handle... some only cope with about 750W, while others can handle anything a 13amp socket can - and use it with an RCD anyway!
