I got one of these the other day from three but before I even got round to using it I fixed my N80 by replacing the ribbon.

Three give you £10 when you port over your old number so you might be able to get £20 credit!

Is this just in Woolies then or in 3 shops as well? I was in a 3 shop last week and was still £40 plus £10 top up.

Can anyone that has had one of these for a while comment on the voice calling quality when...

1) Calling another skype enabled phone

2) Calling someone with a computer running skype

They've been out for so long now and I'm surprised I haven't seen much comment on how good or bad these things are so if anyone would like to share then please do :)

Just my opinion but I had one of these and the first one lasted all of 2 months. The second one didn't last as long.

I gave up and went back to Nokia.

Think you're referring back to the days 3 top ups had to be used within 30 days.

These phones are excellent.

I got one last week on 6 month contract with quidco cash back.

I was skeptical being a gadget man, but am very impressed as is wife who was wanting an N95 8GB. Replacing my t-mobile mda pro with this.

It is small, excellent display, huge functions windows live can be installed.
camera is excellent blew my wofes 3mp samsung out of the water.

Also got a £20 accessory vouvher , so have just oredered a 2gb memory card. Cases are sold out.

2 of my kids got these for Christmas, both of them are back to their old falling to pieces phones as these are terrible, call quality is good enough, but they had almost daily problems with the MSN site and had to delete and re-load it (when it allowed you to), the backs came off , the magnets holding the backs on came out, the screen scratched within the hour of getting it (although you don't notice it when screen is alight,) there is no flash and if i remember you can't zoom in (but could be wrong on that point)
It is good for Skype calling - coz it's free .
this is my oppinion only.

I saw it in my local Woolies today

It cheat's, basically it places a standard GSM voice call back to something at 3 which then does the Skype part of the call.

Used skype a few times including a couple fairly long calls a friend in the Netherlands, Quality seemed ok although I did have a problem starting the call the first time (they couldn't hear me) but hanging up and redialling sorted that out.

I've had the MSN issue once, but deleting it and reinstalling it sorted it (I think msn on the skype phone is a fairly recent thing and I get the feeling they haven't quite ironed all the bugs out yet)

My charger is also very noisy, it emits an audible whine when charging the phone, But its a standard Mini USB interface on the bottom of the phone so It's easy enough to use a "USB charger" (got one on order as I want it to charge PS3 controller/Mp3 player.etc as well, ive used one successfully with the phone in the car so I know it works) or simply plug it into the PC.

This phone is not without its Flaws but For the price/features it seems a good buy, I've had mine about a month and a half and Have been using it as my main phone since then.

I have the winey power supply
if your micro sd is not in properly awkward to get the back on.

I would recommend the case for this phone but not cheap at £7.99

Can I use my 3 sim contratc card in one of these - would I still get free skype calls?

From what I understand you have to top up each month to be able to use the skype facility, but the £10 could be used for text messages, internet etc.

But does anyone one know if you can still accept incoming skype calls if you have no credit ?

Quoted from three site. :) Skype?s free to set up and simple to use. If you have a Skype compatible mobile you can chat away, without spending a penny even if you have run out of credit. All you need to do is make sure you Top-up every 30 days.

Thanks, I contacted 3 and they have confirmed that this is correct.

Shame really would have been great if you could get incoming calls even if you did not top up every 30 days OR if they did a joint account cus I would top up £10 a month for the internet every month and we (me & my better half) could enjoy free calls to each other.

Bought one today thinking I'd be able to use it in Sweden when I go... as I had a quick nosey on the three website and under the PAYG heading I went to it had Sweden listed. But according to people on the 3 skypephone forum, you can't use it there-even as a normal phone. Not happy. :-(
But, I can use skype here so that's good-and I've just downloaded MSN (is free for limited time it seems)- but even better woo!:w00t:
Ok, one thing I'm hating about three! I went on the Launcher link, in there it says quite clearly it's free to browse, so browse I did-then when I went to sites it said this one will be a 'paid for site' so I clicked back. I woke this morning, checked my credit and £4.81 has been taken. You have to be careful-they take credit quite a while after I last used the phone, so I don't know where I've been charged. I kept skype on all night-assume it's not that. I used MSN for a bit in the night, it said it's free for 3 months if you install it before 08.08.08. So I'm hoping it's not that. I went on some links via the launcher button, so it must be chargeable-even though it said you'll be clearly notified if you are about to be charged.
I watched 2 youtube videos one of 28s and one of 1m 21s, so I guess the links off of launcher are not free at all. I'm thoroughly confused by this network! If it wasn't for the fact the phone was cheap I would be returning it. :(

I looked on Quidco and it mentions something about £20 cash back on the Skype phone - can anyone confirm if this means if I buy the Skype phone direct from 3 online via Quidco as a PAYG Phone I get back £20 form Quidco - this would bring the price down to £19.99 then - direct from 3?
