Original total cost = 22.5 x 24months = 540

After cashback (Quidco?) = 540 -125 = 415

After deduction of the netbook cost = 415 - 150 = 265

Effective monthly cost = 11.04

In addition to this, can we get RAF? or existing customer discount?
#2
im not sure about the RAF, think it would have to be done over the phone, so wouldnt get the cashback
#3
I think the XP machine is worth a touch more than £150 - I paid that for the Linux version last week.
#4
Topcashback only offer £100

Topcashback only offer £100

its gone down then since last week. Ill adjust title. Well spotted

Still this really is an amazing offer, should be hotter in my book
#7
surely as you're contracted to 24 months the deal should say £540 not £22.50, as effectively it costs £540 (or whatever it comes to if you get cashback)

cashback not guarenteed so not normally included in the price. out of intrest quidco cashback is also £100 if you would rather go through them

i say i'd have to agree with mumbojumbo there... it is a tad disappointing that one only gets the ZTE modem.

they know where you live, they have debt collectors, your contracted, they can summon you to court, but negative scoring on your credit scoring...

is the data allowance fixed to that laptop only or can you plug it into a different laptop and swap it around?
#13
Shame it's a 24 month contract. You're bound to get better deals by 2 years time :/

I guess it's not too bad if you needed/were going to buy the laptop anyway. I've got one from a past asda deal - the screen has a nice res (although a bit small for prolonged use), the keyboard is hard to get used to and the battery isn't good enough for mobile use.

You can use any computer you wish to.

mumbojumbo
It's not a bad deal for what you get, but if you're really going to be using 15GB of data a month wouldn't you be better off with a full-sized laptop? Also it's a bit disappointing that you only get the ZTE modem rather than built-in 3G.

Although, the USB modem gives you greater flexibility. You can use the Aspire One whilst on the move and a desktop at home or office. Ideal for people without a landline such as a student or others in rented accommodation.

Just one problem with this very good deal, its with 3, the worst company in the UK and probably the whole world. Run into any problems (billing, faulty goods, coverage bad) and you enter weeks and months of dialogue with the most incompetent staff who lie, promise and dont deliver, dont call back, and in some caes you cant even understand)

Searh google for 3 complaints!!!!!

I've been with 3 for the past 3 years and they're not too bad, but I think thats because I've not had any problems so far with handsets etc. Although funny enough my contract is up this month & they have been ringing me non stop to renue & when I say I'm at work or something they are very rude and either keep on talking or say 'fine' & hang up!

Considering this deal. Not sure I know enough about the terms though, will have to check it out.
#18
Mobile broadband is not really a substitute for normal fixed line for those considering it.

I have been with 3g mobile net for nearly 18months now. Not to bad at the beginning but has started to drop connection and slow down of late. Probably because of too many people using their mobile broadband.
#19
Had this 3mobile for 12 months, coverage sucks and didn't even work in Oz anywhere when promised it would :x Have complained with ombudsmen and trying to get money back
#20
I have a Three dongle and it works very poorly in London. They had over-subscribed the network so it's slow and you can't connect half the time; very poor.

Also who knows what delas will be around in 24 months - presumably much cheaper offers.

therefore voted cold.

The call centres are not that great, difficult to understand, however my laptop arrived faulty and the company that supplies peripherals to 3 sent me a new laptop. however the dozy delivery driver didnt pick up the old laptop.
#22
Hmmmm not that scorching really.

You can get the same contract without laptop for £15 PM, same cashback.

Therefore saving £7.50 per month, which equals £180 total - probably about the same, or a bit more, than the laptop.
#23
By the way, this gives the 15GB allowance for:

£360
- Quidco £100:

£260
= £10.85 per month.
#24
I have this. You can use the broadband dongle in *whichever laptop/pc/mac you like* and the net books (obviously) can be used on your wireless LAN at home, too - obviously again, for no extra charge.
