I found this deal in The Sun. You get 3 professional kitchen knives for only 99p plus £7.99 postage.

Apparently these knives are worth £119 so quite a good price. All you have to do is go to the following webpage and follow the instructions.

I ordered them for going off to uni as most starter sets cost this much. Hopefully they will arrive in time.

The set I bought - well actually got free - was shabby and cheap. Just like the mass of junk mail they follow up with.

Also, not sure about one of your "tags" in the current climate

It has been edited out, thankfully. I'm not prepared to discuss what the tag said.

Just to put this into perspective, regarding the quality of the materials used...

I received a pack containing 7 knives 6 months ago. It was free, just a small contribution to the P&P. Well, the "packing" part of the "P&P" was very flimsy and amateurish, wrapped in a cardboard sheet roll. The knives, while looking decent, were actually hollow in their construction; no feel to them, no weight.

I actually put my 9 inch serrated carver through my electronic sharpener and the sparks it generated kind of illustrated the cheapness of the monkeymetal used in their construction.

I would steer clear of the offers from this distributor if quality is important to you.

On the other hand, if you need a knife, or set of knives that you're not bothered about keeping for more than 12 months, then go for it.

Hmm....The Sun giving very posh knives away - I doubt it somehow! The Sun and posh aren't words that really go together! Steer clear of the knives, they're bound to be junk, otherwise, why would they be giving them away?!

I confirm that these knives are not worth even 10% of their RRP, and considering the bother that follows in the form of junk mail, avoid at all cost- even if it's free!!!

I like the use of a French name giving the impression that they may be used by some bloke with a Michelin star...... still I suppose it sounds better than the 'Harry Smith' knife set.

I bought the 5-piece knife set 8 months ago and used them almost daily, yes there light, yes you get their catalogue dropping through your letter box too much BUT if you want a set of all purpose kitchen knives there cheap and fine.
