Might no be everyone's cuppa but just been into a 3 store to look at the new Samsung GT-S5830 (Mini S) for £209.99 on PAYG - said to the sales assistant nah thanks its cheaper online when he pulled this deal out the bag. Phone £139.99 plus £10 for a '30 day' rolling contract, he said sign up for the 30 days for an extra tenner (100 mins, 3000 texts 1GB data), cancel 2 weeks before the next top-up and have the phone for £149.99, does have 3 start-up icon but has no network lock on the phone!

The phone is nice, more so than my old Hero! Screen is better, its much quicker and scores a nice 54.8fps on Navcore, maybe possibility for overclocking as well.

Can scan off the receipt if anyone's interested. Might be a deal for the kids.......

Sounds like a HOT deal.

You may want to add that the deal is in store only - pretty obvious but we all know how pedantic folks are on here and might vote cold :-)

Orange San Francisco has a better screen but a slower processor. I have the San Francisco & would definitely recommend it. It's also 50 quid cheaper.

I've been into the local 3 shop and I couldn't get the phone for under £199. Has anyone else been able to find a 3 shop in the Leeds area that is doing this deal?

OP: Which branch did you get this from?

Ideally, speak to the shop manager.

Good price!
#13
it's £199.99 in every 3shop I've tried.
#14
its a £200 phone regardless, and even that price will drop.

Hot, been eyeing this phone like an hawk but cheapest anywhere I've seen is CeX (£170 unlocked) Might see if my local 3 has this deal

It's actually Samsung Galaxy Ace, not Mini S as mentioned btw
#16
the receipt shows galaxy ace s so it is a mini s just not called that.

Good luck when cancelling the contract.

I encountered a very pushy representative this morning when trying to cancel the 1-month contract. I just wanted a simple 30 days notice to end the contract but she has been spending more than half an hour to persuade me to renew into another 18/24 months contract!

If you are willing to take the deal and leave in a month, be prepared to fight the cs. :p
#18
3 are a pain to get away from.

They'll be ringing you every 3 months for ever once you leave (taking you number with you) as they know when you left and when your new contract is likely to be up!.

As long as you dont have to speak to them 3 are a good network , certainly you get more for your money with them than most.

I have the Samsung 5820GT (much lower model) and has a really nice feal to it, responds well and everything laid out nicely.
Samsung are pretty good on mobiles.

I love these kinds of comments. If what you want is an iPhone, get an iPhone not something that is "nearly as good". Get this if you want a good Android phone.

I'd be cautious about believing 3 about this, as I was caught in a similar 'deal' by them. Which turned out not to be as they said. 3 phones are also notoriously locked to their own network too in my experience.

But hot deal if accurate.

Went into the Staines store ... they advised no such offer.

They also said the person who applied the discount would probably get pulled up over it.

Anyone else had any luck with this one?

Spoken to main high street 3 stores in a few locations - all say this deal doesnt exist. looking at the receipt it says "outlet village" so may not be a high street offer

Cheshire oaks is a seconds shopping centre so may be customer returns or refurbs or damaged box or something
