My brother picked up the FEB issue of asda magazine and it had the 30 gig ipod video for £129.00, i called the asda store and the guy said yes they were in stock but it scanned at £189.
So i told him about the mag price, and he said if i bring the mag in he would honour the price.
Went in with the mag, and the guy called a customer service rep over who took £60 off the price and got it for £129. BARGAIN!!

Well done on the discount but I'm sure this will be a little 'hit and miss' on account of what I'm sure are the letters E & O.E somewhere in the mag.

Not quite sure what you mean bellboys?
E & OE??

I need the magazine! :(
#10
There will have about 30 million magazines in your local asda dont worry,

out of interest what is the best price on the net for this ipod atm?
#11
It's something like £180. And the nearest asda is about 25 minutes away - I need to make a decision, as it's not that local =|
#12
Put that image in the image URL box....

Errors and Omissions Excepted. It's basically a get-out clause if any item is mis-priced in a mag/leaflet. It's to be found on most retailer's leaflets/booklets.

£166 at amazon is the cheapest i've seen it! http://www.amazon.co.uk/New-Apple-iPod-Video-Generation/dp/B000HZFC4W/sr=8-3/qid=1170024939/ref=pd_ka_3/202-6815957-4194209?ie=UTF8&s=electronics

Asda collegues will get there 10% too along with the magazine miss price ect so basically if could go down to £117
#17
this is awesome, going to go there tomorrow and see whats what
#18
that's great, thanks.
#19
Could anyone going to get a magazine today pick me one up please and send it to me? I'll paypal them the costs of the postage.

I live miles away from an Asda so it's a bit of a hassle going there just to see if the magazine is in stock.

Be interested to hear how many people succeed with this as I’m planning on nipping down this afternoon.

Great price, if I manage to get one I’ll be glad Boots cancelled my order last week.
#21
I'd love to go and get one, great price, but if Asda do sell for this price I'm pretty sure people will buy all the stock in one go and flog on the bay by the e :-( ... and THEY will be waiting for the doors to open this morning.
#22
As this is in Februarys mag, has anyone thought of the possibility that this could actually be the price from the 1st Feb?

Could just be a case of waiting a few days, and it not being a misprice
#23
None in Milton Keynes. Black or White.:-(
#24
I had a look for the Feb issue at my local ASDA and I was informed by a member of staff they had not yet received these.
#25
Just popped into the Asda on my way into work in Slough, no sign of the Feb issue there either. I was informed that it will be in store within a couple of days...
#26
So this may be the actual price in febuary?
#27
Got the mag - p109 to save you all thumbing through it in store ;)

Unfortunately my local Asda doesn't sell the ipod videos.

This has to be a misprice, as it will make it cheaper than an 8gb nano, and Apple have no need for huge price cuts across the range!
#28
I phoned Slough this morning. They have 1 black in stock but are unaware of any price reduction and tell me that the price is £189. I reckon it all depends if you have got a copy of the mag and if the person you speak to is in the mood for offering a "Hot UK Deal!"
#29
you have to ask for the mag as the fussy floor mangers wont put it out till feb 1st.
the deal is there but i cant find a store in northern ireland who stocks the i-pod :(
#30
Surely they have to refund thw WHOLE amount if they charge you the wrong amount. Tesco and Asda have always had this policy.

I might try this on the 1st Feb, if I can get a copy of the mag!!!
#31
asda dont have the same policy as tesco ar regards overcharges.
#32
with that in mind, maybe a store will do a price match with the mag?Comet does a price match plus 10% discount! Any thoughts on that?
#33
damn...just ordered my daughter a blk video 30gig off ebuyer (£160) delivered.Oh well might have to get one of these ones for myself :whistling:

thanks for the post :)

I think that the price match has to be at a shop within the local area of Comet and it has to be in stock at said shop.
#35
Asda may tell store managers not to put the magazines out or say they have no stock once they know about this. They could afford to throw the magazines away, not issue a FREE magazine in February, that would be cheaper for Asda than offer a £60 discount on each iPod.
#36
Just tried in the store in Ayr and I have the magazine, they told me to come back on the 1st as the prices in the magazine do not come into effect until then.

I don't believe that though, they will notice the mistake and pull all the magazines.

So its been confirmed this price is a mistake then? and not a genuine reduction in Feb?
#38
No magazines in my store yet but I've bought the ipod for the full price and will return to Asda in a few days for a £60 refund. This way they won't tell me it's not in stock anymore...
#39
clever idea!
