I am not a tree hugger, I just use a bit of sensible reasoning.
Would you use these in your mobile if they fit. Of course not.
Batteries like this are just a waste of resources

Uniross Alkaline Batteries
Uniross Super Heavy Duty AA Batteries - 10 Pack
#11
They appear to be the same as those currently on sale on Amazon at £4.54 for 20 batteries.

According to Amazon, "Uniross Alkaline ultra high power batteries are suitable for all medium to high power devices. With outstanding performance these batteries lasted up to 10 per cent longer than the leading brands (lasting up to two hours longer in a continuous test)."

At 13p for an alkaline battery you cant go to far wrong. My thanks to the OP.

Oops forgot to say...good deal voted hot. Uniross are a good make for batteries.

For anyone who prefers something a bit more up market, 7DayShop have Panasonic alkaline AA in 48 for £13.76

Nice one, just ordered a batch, and they take Paypal.

These are ZINC batteries, the older type. These are not alkaline and won't last as long at all. I am surprised they continue to make these. This is wasteful and has an impact on the environment due to shorter shelf and operating life and other factors. Alkaline lasts many more times longer than these (between 3-5 times longer operating time- see Wikipedia). So on average buying 4x4 packs (16 batteries) of Zinc batteries is similar to buying a single 4 pack of Alkaline batteries.
This seems poor value.
Mymemory webpage for this is misleading. Check product packaging on the picture which does not say Alkaline.
See Uniross web page for the Zinc batteries click here which is what Mymemory are selling.
They don't make 10 packs of Alkaline. Uniross Alkaline battery packs look like this click here

Don't forget to recycle all you old batteries!
All shops that sell over a certain weight of batteries have a legal duty to collect your old ones.

Well said, as these are the older type Zinc batteries that don't last long.
You will be recycling these quite frequently due to shorter operating life.
