Sorry if this has been mentioned before, this is also my fist deal. I went iinto my local Blockbuster last night and I saw this deal. It said that for a limited time only, they will accept ANY PS3 game as a trade-in, and you will get £30 off any new PS3 game. I thought this was particularly good to say that I bought NHL2K7 from Play.com for £17.99 - I weren't too keen, so I took it to Blockbuster and saw this deal.

Like I say, it's my first deal - so please don't be too harsh on me :)

Furthermore, I asked how much I would get for store-credit an case I didn't want a PS3 game, and they said £26. So you can spend that £26 on anything else in-store, DVD's, X-Box games, popcorn - whatever!

It has been mentioned before I believe but good if you can be bothered to waste petrol to get to a blockbusters.

you could always walk - save the planet, save you petrol money and burn off the popcorn.

Not everyone lives miles away from a blackbusters :whistling:

its a nice deal, but i doubt Blockbuster are selling any PS3 game for less than £40, so you're gonna have to add at least £10 to this, so you've spent £27.99 overall on a new PS3 game, meaning you're only saving £10.

Like i said, it's good in a way, but Blockbuster aren't losing out and neither are you , so it's fair on both sides.

I see what you are saying mate, but they do have some at £40 - not sure which though off the top of my head. So £10 on top of the NHL2K7 for £17.99 makes a PS3 game for £28. I'm having a walk to Blockbuster again tonight so I will have a check what games are at £40

can u stack games? like have 2 genjis or something like that and tell them i want store credit which is 26 each?
#9
Not sure mate, I would have thought so. At the end of the day they are for trade-in, so I can't see why not.

Have been using this method to buy a lot of my xbox 360 games, buy Kenji, NHL, Gundam etc from places like play where they are under £20.. use quidco too.. then trade them in at blockbusters for store credit and get whatever games for 360 I want either pre-owned or new.

They dont tend to love you taking in multiple copies of a game at once, but if you have a couple of stores near you the credit seems to be on account so you can trade in at multiple stores.

So you get £26 store credit for NHL? How much cash for that NHL game?

At a guess around £17 cash.

I have just been though and there are quite a few games at £34.99! Resistance, Motorstorm, F1 were all that price, which means in theory you could have any one of thise 3 for £23. In fact there was one game called Rise of the Silver Surfer, or something, and that was only £29.99! Many other games were £39.99 and the odd few were £44.99 and then Def Jam for £49.99. All in all I still really do find it a good deal - I just wish someone would give me a reputation block :( what does a guy have to do to get one of those?

Just to let you know, credit can only be spent at the store you use to trade things in. You can, however, use credit to buy gift vouchers and spend them at any store you like.

We don't mind taking 2 copies of a game at once, but if you're buying several cheap online just to trade in, don't do it all in one go or we'll get suspicious! :whistling:

is there a blockbuster trade in price list?

i would be interested to know how much i could get for all my games i didnt want any more and also to see if there were any cheeky deals.

can i also ask, you say that you can only use the credit in THAT store but can get vouchers? is that at the 'credit' price or the 'cash' price?

No, there's no list but all the prices are on the in-store computer. Re: the gift vouchers - if you take store credit you can then use that to buy vouchers and spend them at any Blockbuster you like. We don't refund gift vouchers, so there's no chance of sneakily getting the credit price in cash ;-)

nice one, sorry to be a pain in the @ss but i here there is a minimum of £26 per ps3 title? as play sell 2 games for £18 each that would be £16 per time in 'profit'?

you also dont happen to know a rough list of which xbox360 , ps3 games have the most trade in value or what the max is do you?

sorry for being annoying but i may do some ordering later if it is going to be worth doing as i want a ps3 but any way i can save money to get it the better.

oh and the gift vouchers? if you get £26 credit is it £26 gift voucher or are they like boots vouchers? game used to have a till receipt system where if you wanted £45.79 you could have it as it cam e out as a receipt).

Hiya just a quick question, I dont have a blockbuster near me but am looking at trading in spiderman 3, lost planet and virtua tennis 3, could you tell me how much id get for these if possible as the nearest store is 8 miles away from me and I dont drive, Thanks in advance

Most, if not all, PS3 games / new release 360 games come in at £26 store credit. So yes, if you bought a PS3 game for £18 you'd more than likely get £26 store credit for it. The gift vouchers are paper vouchers, we do £1 / £5 / £10 / £20 denominations.

Jim - I can't rmember offhand how much you'd get for those games (except Lost Planet is, I believe, £15 credit) so just ring any store and ask. Bear in mind though that our price drops usually occur on a Tuesday.

nice one, i have ordered a couple ( well 4) ps 3 games purely to trade at blockbuster.

now to find the trade in price list for gamestation and game, im sure i saw one on here the other day;-)

If it helps, Blockbuster will beat ANY trade-in price you find elsewhere. So if you happen to mention that Game will give you a couple of quid more then we'll add a bit more credit onto your account. Just don't get too cheeky!

nice one, i should have 4 virtua tennis 3's and 2 rainbow 6's to trade tomorrow for vouchers. i will then hunt down a couple more deals and then also exchange the 4 ps3 games when they turn up. at this rate i should be able to get a ps3 for around £150 to £200 which is the max i would be for it anyway.

i also have around 15 games i probably wont play again, i may see how much trade in i get and check out the flea bay prices. no point having stuff if i never use it.

wayhay just been to blockbuster with my virtua tennis 3 games and some of my older games to see what they could do

i swapped virtua tennis and tomb raider for the darkness and as they didnt have colin mcrea, forza 2, overlord, call of jauez ( or what ever it is called) OR command and conquor 3, i took back the one tennis game.

these are the prices i got on my older games for credit

tomb raider £7
lego star wars £15
saints row £19
gears of war £15
battlestations midway £15
rainbow 6 las vegas £19

not bad at all really

i couldnt trade call of duty 3 as it was the australian pal version, i also forgot to take pro evo 6, table tennis, dead rising , dead or alive 4, viva pinata, pgr3, eragon and pirates of the caribean but i will shift them i think next week along with this other tennis game.

that should get me another £130 credit.

now to hunt down some cheap @ss games to add to my ps3 fund.

Wish I had got store credit for NBA2K7 last week when I could have got £26 for it - although today I got £23 so it's still more than I initially paid brand new. Saw an offer for 4 DVD's for £10, so I got that deal and kept £13 on my card for credit.

What's more is the guy said you dont get gift vouchers, it just goes onto your card for credit.

EDIT: also forgot to mention it looks as though they are no longer doing the £30 off any PS3 game when trading in any other PS3 game.

Gamestation will match any trade in price and add £1
