hate ebay, banned my mate from selling despite having 1000+ feedback because 1 person said a phone wasn't working at all when it, 2 games scratched which he subsequently asked them to return and he cleaned for them and another got lost in the post.
His daughter then tried to open an account 3 months later, different house, different phone, different email different bank and they said your accounts are connected she also cant sell.

Yes, sounds like ebay.
Now if she'd been a crook she'd have been fine

Exactly - what a joke. If you sell something for 100 pounds, the usual fee is 10 pounds, so with this promotion the fee is only 7...... wow.
Most sales are under a fiver, so not a big saving, and I certainly wouldn't risk high value items on ebay due to the greater risk of crooks trying to say it didn't arrive, or was faulty, then returning an empty box for a refund (It happens) !!

To a certain extent you can limit the potential for a dodgy sale; you can choose certain 'buyer requirements', such as country of origin, feedback score, etc.

Add the Paypal (owned by Ebay...) seller fee which is 3.4%, so even with a deal Ebay takes 10.4% of your sale.

Still a rip off.

I don't sell anymore due to ebay AND PayPal fees, eats away any profit I make so not worth it
#14
Just send it signed for post solved all the scammer issues!
#15
Send everything with tracking and take photos! PayPal seller protection normally helps you keep or retains your monies. Helped me out on many occasions.
#16
I can't believe ebay are taking a percentage of the P&P now when you sell!!
#17
i'm off down a high street buyer shop to do my dealing, sounds like humpty dumpty. :p
