just got call from t-mobile yesterday to ask me why i ask for pac code before end of contract, I told them I want an iphone 3gs 16gb and they said to call me to give me an offer for that, however I didn't got any call from them in 2 days, so I bought one myself instead and ask for pac code to transfer number. But I didn't immediately transfer number after i got the code and wait for few days to see if they would call me to retain the customer. They did.
They ask me what kind of offer i would interested if stay. I told them I want an sim only offer, for basic phone use, no need for text and few usage of internet surfing(i use around 30mb each month). Therefore they offer me 5 quid a month for 300 min, 300 text, unlimited landline booster with unlimited internet( it is the default extra for web and walker tariff) for a 2 year contract, plus a free phone as spare one. it comes out that the free phone is HTC wildfire, with android 2.1 and HTC sense, 5mp camere with auto focus and flash, 3.2 in capative screen, gps, bluetooth 2.1 and wifi. Though it is a 2 year contract, but it is just 120 in total while the phone cost more than 229 in ebay and play.com.
So if you are in the end of contract just try to get pac code and then wait for their retention offer, you never know what may come out.
p.s. i got the phone right now, so it is a true retention offer rather than a fake call because i read post here said htc wildfire will be available to order until next month in play.com
My phone usage is quite small, just around 200 mins, less than 5 text and less than 50mb surfing each month, probably that's the reason they give me good offer. I've been with t-mobile for just 11 month, so not have to be a long time loyal customer to get it.

just checked that the price plan is 15 per month less 10 loyalty reward so i think you might get the normal contract of 15 instead of 20 per month 24 months if you want the wildfire from t-mobile

I've already bought iphone just searching for sim only deal, but since t-mobile offer is so excellent, no need to transfer to other company

btw, the phone is provided as a spare phone by tmobile as part of sim only offer

This is not a deal we can all take advantage of.
It was a deal for you.

yeah, but you can take the same route to get similar good offer, that's why i post it here to share the experience. I've been searching for a good sim deal and just want to know how others get them.

It is a fantastic deal for you, but very specific to you, unlikely anyone else would get.
Posted the t mobile deal on here at the weekend for the wildfire, as was looking to get one for my wife, but held back, as not too sure what the wildfire was like, seems to be a "cheapo desire" did not want to be thinking should have gone or the desire for the next 2 years!

I found a monkey in a tree who gave me a banana once, that was about as much use as this deal.

it's the same specification as htc hd, but screen is just 320X240, so battery should last longer, i guess, cause i haven't opened the box yet

Thanks for letting us know... someone else nearing End of Contract could ask for same.
In January I got the HTC G2 from T-Mobile as a free upgrade and a reduction in Monthly Tariff so always good to hear success stories!

I should be so lucky, all they do is fling poop at me when I see a monkey.

It's like walking into Phones 4 U

Please do post - I'm lucky I found this while looking for another wildfire thread - I wish the cold voters would vote on the deal not the availability, etc.

Have some heat & rep!
