300 minutes, 1000 texts, 500MB data SIM only, 6 month contract - £8 per month normally, £3/month after quidco cashback £48.00
Talkmobile are offering 300minutes/1000 texts/500MB of data a month on a 6 month contract for £8 a month. The deal price comes from the fact that quidco are offering £30 cashback if you take out this tariff, making the monthly cost £3 a month for the term of the contract:
6 months*£8=£48.
Minus £30 cash back= £18 (total for 6 months)
cost per month = £18/6 = £3
This is perfect for people that want a short term contract who have come to the end of their smartphone contract and don't want to keep paying £20+/month but are waiting for the next decent phone to be launched (like me!) and don't want to go onto pay as you go.
I cant find a SIM only contract for less than this that offers a *reasonable* amount of data allowance. If anybody can find a cheaper tariff, please let me know!

Seems like the deal has been around for a while, although it's not always a bad thing to get reminded of the decent ones. Even without the quidco, this is still reasonable for what you are getting, without being tied down for a year or more. Heat added.
What do you mean by this? Is it slow? Not enough data? They are using Vodafone network I think.
Let me know as I'm considering this deal for my wife

So I tried to get one sim from them but it was refused. Got this email back saying
Sorry, we can't process this order
You didn't meet all the criteria of a credit check carried out by Talkmobile. Due to this we can't connect you at this time.
I still have a contract with them that is £30 that runs out this month, so they don't accept a £8 one oO
And i have credit cards and a mortgage on the house.
Oh well, ended up getting a t mobile for £8.50 100+250 m, 5000 txt, unlimited internet

Does anyone know if your charged to listen to your voicemail on this? The terms seem to say you don't but the charges list indicates you may.

2. With voicemail, can you disable it?
I just had a quick look at the webpage and it says "Keep your number" on the linked page so I guess so. I will give it a go and see if it possible.
EDIT: There is a box to put in your PAC code on the order page in order to port your number.
