Hey there,

Thought i'd tell everyone about this phone deal 3 are doing, basically if you get the LG U300 phone you can get 18 months line rental at £17.50 with 300 minutes and 1000 texts. This is the best phone only deal i've seen around. I opted for it as i didn't want to go down the cashback/redemption method. Also if you have any friends on 3 you can do "recommend a friend" and both get £30 credit. Also the phone is fairly basic but does the job

why cold? Any valid reason for it?
#2
Its only been posted a few mins, please be patient.
#3
quidco? 3 mobile do it but i cant see if any is offered

i also prefer this to cash back routes however you get better deals if you do the cash back.
#4
Seems good value for money - can't stand cashback - I think I've got memory equivalent to a goldfish.

Not a bad deal, shame about the phone though! :) I know you're not going to get an all singing and dancing Nokia N95, but Three tend to go mad for the lower spec phones and give you the good deals. I know you can't have your cake and eat it, but maybe they should try and balance it out a bit?

Why do you hate Three then boydent999?

well done

Is that sarcasm or support? :?

Voted hot.

Ive been with 3 for a year and found them fantastic and much better than previous experiences with vodafone and orange.

Great value and if anything goes wrong they are so quick at fixing it.

My nokia N73 developed a firmware issue (nokia's fault not 3) however i was able to book it in for collection myself over the web, they came next day to collect it, i was able to track which stage of fix it was at and it was back fixed two days later.

Very impressive and i can recommend three to anyone

Don't forget quidco they give loads of money back.

If you need a referral contact me and I'd be happy to help, you can do quidco and refer a friend.

Cheers

As far as I can tell its £80 Quidco (The tariff is the DT1400, also includes 50 video minutes, 50 mms, £5 downloads)

So the whol term should cost:
£17.5 x 18 = £315
- £80 - £30 = -£120

so thats £195 / 18 = £10.83 a month!

Don't forget the days bluetooth headset code aswell!
Various other tariffs have god awful handsets with 18months half price line rental but it seems this has the most Quidco cashback!
If any needs a RAF, then feel free to pm me!
#13
Don't forget the same phone on Direct Talker 1000 is £17.50 up to 18 months

Gives

Inclusive UK voice minutes 750 mins
Inclusive UK text messages 150 txt msgs
Inclusive UK video minutes 50 mins*
Inclusive UK photo or video messages 50 messages*
Free Downloads £5

Plus £47.50 if you go through quido and another £30.00 for you and the friend referred

Forgot, plus addtional 512mb memory card and bluetooth headset if you use the code
#14
If you stick with 3 you get some cracking deals, i'm on my third 3 contract and got a Nokia e65 with 300 mins, 200 texts, 25 MMS, 50 mins video, and £5 a month downloads for what works out at £15 a month on a 12 month contract, didn't have to haggle that much either ,worth giving them a try
#15
3 is great if you live in the right areas just like any other network. Good deal!

Your calculations are slightly wrong. -£80 -£30= -£110 not -£120.
Therefore effective cost per month is in fact £11.38.

On a different note, could someone explain the £30 credit offer. Could this credit be put towards bills or is it credit towards extra calls/texts made over the limit. Thanks
#17
The credit appears on your account/bill some 30-60 days down the line. So you would use that to pay your linerental etc. Basically it would use this £30 for all your expenses (tariff and downloads/out of tariff items) first. (It just appears as a credit of £30 on your bil)

Hope that sort of makes sense

Ian

PM me if you want to use my number as a referral, I will even give you £10 of the £30 I get :)

Thanks for pointing out my mistake! As mentioned by muddyfox it is as if they make a payment of £30 on your account, you should receive the money after a minimum of 60 days (two months connection) but it might show on your third statement, if it doesn't appear then a quick call to three is all that is needed to sort it out, mine didn't show and they honoured it!
#19
On any other network this is a hot deal but on 3 it's stone cold. Consistantly the worst performing Telco network and the customer service always falls short of acceptable.
#20
There speaks the truth.
Well done sicknote.
I know i am biased but i have been with them 3 years now and know just how pathetic, useless, incompetent and down right appaling their CS are.
If you want a service with many minutes for good value, great but Lord help you when summat goes wrong.

For all those who are in favour, i just cannot agree. Two contracts with them, one i was averaging £200/month and they would not offer me an early upgrade lol and when i asked i was told i could, if i paid £200 lol.

Good luck, but don't be misled, cos you do get what ya pay for with 3

Have a GOOD look around the 3g forum to find all the unhappy customers
#21
I'm on my third contract with Three and have found them honest & up front with T & C's, reliable and good value. Most of my family are on Three too due & have had no problems at all. The retention deals I have been offered by Three have always beaten the opposition.

Afraid I have no sympathy for those that do not bother to read the T & C's and then whinge - which appears to sum up a good proportion of the complaints.

..... - & I'm one of those idiots that didn't read the T & C's on a O2 contract some yrs ago and ended up paying through the nose  . Lessons hard learnt.:x

Awesome deal, if they accepted Visa Electron i'd be straight on it!

Oh, and the £30 recommend a friend, can it be used just once or as many times as possible? Just wondering because, if it does, surely you could recommend (if you have that many on 3/three) enough to pay off the bill (pre quidco and whatnot) and in theory not pay anything.

My dads company has all their phones connected to 3/Three so this would be a cracking deal!

Voted Cold, agreed 3 are an awful network I would sooner pay more money for one of the "big 4" networks then this cheap ass poor mans network

You can raf as many times as you want - each time it's £30 for them and £30 for you. I had a leaflet clearly explaining this in my pack up. So yes - if you get enough people to begin a contract you can indeed get a lot of £30 credits :)
#25
Good offer from 3. rubbish network though. If your due an upgrade try and get your network to match this deal.:whistling:

Wow that's awesome. I assume if you take any deals out in-store or via the phone you just give your 'mates' number and what not?

Mmm, ACCEPT VISA ELECTRON! Ah!!
#27
If only they offered a decent selection of phones! Bad network, but the offers are usually pretty awesome.

Balb0wa, which phone did they order. The quidco cashback is related to the phone and the tariff. You can only get £80 cashback on this particular contract with u300, 6151, 6288, K610i

Thanks for reminding me. I put my girlfriend's phone number in when I ordered my W800i back in March (on Direct Texter 1400). Neither of us have received the £30 credit, so I've just rang Three and they are looking into it.

I also got £100 cashback via Quidco for taking this phone out.

Sweet.

Not sure that is aimed at me, but just in case it is, here goes.

I get a call in november 06, offering me a new contract. I accept, 2 months early & this happened towards the end of my previous contract too.

I ask recently for an end date, they tell me Jan '08 :x. I explain, explain and explain again, but the "all calls maybe recorded" are never when you as a customer need them!

They would not supply written T&C's so don't be at it saying i did not read them, i was read them to me from the sadly missed Glasgow Call Centre.

3 stoodfast saying i was lying, but funny how mentioning of taking them to court and mentioning OTELO made them see the error of their ways

The problem with 3 is that they will not and do not supply anything in writing when you upgrade. Any credits due do appear on your bill but no duration of contract nor changes to T&C's.

Like i said, not sure if it *was* aimed at me, but if it was, you really wanna know some facts before you make such comments

Sorry but you are wrong here.
How can i be wrong, to summat that has happened to me? Please explain. :x
v2drinkers
I had one of heir amazing renewal deals and whilst on the phone to them requested that they email me the details. I recieved this email within the day.
Well when was that please? Could you give a month/year, cos when i had this november 06, they would not. Furthermore, when they agreed to correct my account and to change my end date to what is SHOULD have been of November 07, again they would not provide anything in writing :x
#34
From what I can tell Three is vastly improving, ok the india call centres suck! but that was expected, can't say that O2 customer services is exactly brilliant (the only other network I've dealt with). Staff are still very poilte, I hung up once mid conversation as I had to go, got an immediate call back!

Prices are very competitive and they are leading the way in services, eg xseries is brilliant! Never thought I'd see the day a network would actually encourage you to use skype on their handsets! they have begun implementing hsdpa... which means I will have to sell my N73 pretty soon to make full use of it!
#35
Soz really thick question but does the refer a friend cash work for numbers already with 3 ? my mum and dad just signed new deals with 3 am I too late to refer them?

Yep too late, referral is only possible at the point of sale, could tell a white lie once they have been with three for 60 days, might work...

No reason for cold votes here. Three did have a bad rep due to the phones cutting out and not working when it first started. However, they've been great for a couple of years. Think their call centre staff are better trained than most overseas too, have always been very helpful for me.

What I can't get over is how good their signal is, I have been with each of the networks except Virgin, and am currently with vodafone and three. The three signal is far superior - I believe when their reception isn't great, it disbables the 3g content and also utilises the O2 masts, which gives you excellent coverage all over. I will be staying with them for years to come!!

Anyone hesitating due to others bad mouthing due to previous bad experiences, don't!! I am sure you won't regret it

reverts to 2g settings on Orange...

You can be wrong because they do supply a written explanation. They did to me!
Well if that is the case, i am still not wrong based on my own experience, which likewise to yourself, unless other's speak up, i can only comment on what happened to me :)

July 12th 2007! If you want any more info PM me and I'll send you a copy of the email (minus my acct details obviously)
That's quite sometime after my november 06 experience and it MAY seem they have had a policy change, you got someone who knew, or conversely did not know what they were doing lol

As for a PM, it is fine, you clearly were dealt with how you say you were and i need not call your bluff

JayJaz
Anyone hesitating due to others bad mouthing due to previous bad experiences, don't!! I am sure you won't regret it
Well i think it is only fair that both sides are given so that if summat goes amiss they don't come back here and blame all the 3 fanboys.

Clearly no company is always gonna get it right but (the royal) you cannot say that other's are bad mouthing, i for one am merely stating what bad service i have had, that is not bad mouthing and was *so* bad i was willing to take them to court. For me that is not bad mouthing, just pure frustration at appaling treatment.

As i *always* say about 3, go to the 3g forum and read how happy all the other 3 customers are, ok, a cross section filled with enough angst to post on a public forum
#40
Might buy it and sell the phone as I'm already on three and have a k610i. Also could I refer myself and get £60? or do they not allow that? Anyone had any luck?

unfortunately I'm not on the electoral roll at my address which is really annoying, however three do have a correct address for me because I get my bills sent to where I'm living. Do you think they'll accept the credit check without me being on the electoral roll where I'm living. I have two other three contracts already.
