a) It's an Alba.

b) Skoda often come high up in customer satisfaction surveys.

It's an Alba, so it's not unbranded... OP just hasn't put it in the title.

Very, especially if you're shallow enough for it to bother you.

It IS branded.... ;)

Anyway, lots of good reviews, for what they are worth of course.

End of the day, you can take it back if no good.

Agreed... Have you seen the price of skoda's these days aswell!! They are not cheap crap anymore...

Heat again:thumbsup:

Not kidding but I saw someone come in and return an Alba TV he bought 30 mins ago (this same one) complaining that it didn't work. The customer service guy even told him the Alba's are terrible quality, and how they are always getting customers to return them etc!

Although Alba is a brand, albeit a crap brand :) It's up there with Matsui, Binatone, Decca and Ferguson

Not half as embarrassing as being the miserable toll that you are...Unless a post is by you..you have a habit of negative criticism of just about every post on this forum...... you seriously need to re-think what this forum is for...to HELP people..not to vent your own sad, inconsequential bitterness.........

You really are pathetic.... people buy what they perceive to be a bargain or what they can afford...who are you to be so condescending?

For that price range I would expect the Toshibas to be a better choice.

Oi! My Skoda is a great little car. :-D Had it for nearly 5 years and never had to pay a penny on it expect for the usual tyres and brakes. It's been through 3 MOT's now without needing anything done to it at all.

Don't diss the Matsui brand as I've got a twenty year old 14" Matsui portable that still works as well as the day that we bought it. Admittedly the picture quailty has always been pretty crap, but hey it works!

Matsui portables were pretty good back then ! . we still have one in our bedroom and it gives an excellent picture . But Dixons wanted a cheap range of Product to sell so molded Matsui into that roll and they went down hill fast :x . I used to be a T.V engineer and everytime we saw a Matsui it got to the point when we turned it away at the door . Its scary how some brands change to 'cheap is best' . Amstrad.Alba( yep they used to be a top brand a few decades ago!),Ferguson and now even Philips seem to want to go the same way too .

you might as well spend extra £50 quid and get a sammy 32" from john lewis and get a 5 yr warranty with it, thers always loads of tv deals slapped on here, worth while just to go through some of them, thats how i bought mine,
#29
I have the 26" version, this is a good second or third telly and perfect for console gaming.

Really! how shocking:? ...mind you it's nice to know someone had time to buy it...take it home, unpack it, plug it in etc etc...discover it didn't work...then re-pack it, drive back, find a parking place and get to the Returns Desk...all within 30 minutes!!! :whistling::whistling::whistling:

I bought this TV, and I was impressed how good it was outta the box!
Sadly you do get what you pay for and I am returning it for a refund, why?
Basically for the colour really, skin tones make everyone look like they got jaundice, and the colours are all washed out even with the colour on max setting of 63!
Ys don know know to set up a TV properly, and yes I know a TV has to 'bed in', but I know it wont chaange that much.
It does cope with pretty much everything but dont expect blacks, grey is what you will see, but its not as bad as some branded TV's I have seen.
So or £250 its a good deal and would recommend as a second TV, or for kids or for your bedroom, but its too annoying for me as my main TV, so back it goes.

Cheers.

my uncle bought me one as i moved into my first home this week. been using it and its good. freeview guide is poo tho.

How funny is that? To be so conceited AND to use a photo hacked from a porn site as an avatar - it's how Peggy Bedford wishes she looked... which says a lot about her, LOL !

Had not expired at 11.30pm on 21/01/10. I reserved this from Argos last night for collection today at £249.99. Argos site is down for maintenance today and I think they are reapplying the vat rate, as well - have to see if the price changes on collection !
