No, but it'll have a far superior picture. Contrast Ratio does make a huge difference. My Sony with it's 20,000:1 ratio has far better and clearer pictures especially on night and dark shots than the fiance's budget 4000:1.

Mine you can see figures in the shadows and people in dark rooms, whereas hers is just a black screen.

It's actually worth paying extra sometimes.

I still voted hot as this TV is full HD and only 20-30 quid for than a budget HD ready TV, just think it's worth paying that little bit more if you can afford it.

Don't think so, I'll be able to report back next Wednesday when the Sony gets delivered to my door by John Lewis (5 year guarantee!).

Enjoy the wait outside Aldi and the scrum when it opens, hope you have big elbows!
