Email sent, told them do I cancel the one I ordered and buy this one or are they going to refund the £19.97 difference!

typical ebuyer ....free delivery does NOT include Northern Ireland....that's another few sales lost again on this board

Not knowing much about TV's. Is this a reasonable spec?

the reviews on ebuyers site seem mostly positive

Just to add my 2p worth about this brand. Not voting hot or cold.

Bought 2 x 19" with DVD combo of this brand with Windows Vista OEM offer, received both TV and the first didn't even power on, then the next failed just after a day. Called eBuyer customer service (they were very good and friendly) and managed to return the TVs for repair (they don't swap out eventhough they are faulty within 1 week!!).

Got both back, 1 of the TV returned was the wrong model (less the DVD player) and the other had intermitten sound cutting out problems, plus remote doesn't work with DVD player, so I have asked for a refund instead.

Thought I was the only 1, but my friend who also bought 2 on the same offer, both died within 1 month.

Personally, I don't think these are very reliable. I have even left a review on eBuyer with regards to these TV, which they have not even bothered to publish.

Ah, so they are STILL up to that trick, despite numerous claims that they have changed!
I suppose someone will now pop out of the woodwork and defend the censorship again, just like they did in the past :-(

Well I have ordered 2 for my business and they will be on 12 hours a day every day so I will kepp you updated on reliability !

I know how you feel, I almost ordered a Samsung NC10 Netbook it was free shipping until they found out that I lived in NI then added £9.99 shipping so I cancelled.

Ordered the Samsung from Dixons for same price & FREE shipping!!

These are probably garbage. Foehn and Hirsch is ebuyer's own brand, applied to anything they can buy cheap in the Far East. I bought one of their TV's in May and it was DOA - so sent back for a refund. Never found out what the picture was like, but the casing was nasty and cheap.

Foehn and Hirsch is meant to sound German I think. I guess one of the ebuyer managers goes skiing in Austria. A 'Foehn' is a wind that blows down the north slopes of the Alps, and a Hirsch is a deer.

my opinion pay that little extra and get a known make you could get a samsung,lg or toshiba for another 30-40 quid ..
#16
careful they dont send you a refurb like they did with the pvr boxes!!!!
#17
Honestly, I wouldn't touch this. The price is as good as you'll see I guess, but the few extra quid for something better quality is going to be money well spent...

That to me is extremely bad customer service from Ebuyer if they won't swap out faulty units like that, I would have told them where to stuff it and returned the units within that week and had a refund and bought another two sets off them instead! By law under distance sellings regulations you have one week to return items, faulty or not.

I have one of these picture is ok sound is not the best when you switch from a hd to a none ha channel there is a 1/2 delay remote is ok for the price the set is ok cheap TV so you get what you pay for

I agree, I have said it before and will say it again., some people think that budget brands are the same as the rest of the manufacturers because they use the same LCD panels, that statement may be true, and you will find a LG/Philips/Sharp/Samsung panel in a budget TV, however the most important part of a tv is the scaling board, you can have a fantastic panel but if the scaling board doesn't have decent technology for picture enhancement you are going to get poor results.

All major manufacturers have their own picture enhancement technologies, Philips Pixel Plus, LG's XD, Samsung's DNiE etc etc etc, budget tvs won't. Its worth paying that extra £30-40 for a tv that does, particularly if you are at all going to be putting any SD content through it.
#21
Have one of these and they are fantastic, while the spec sheet says its 1080i only it actually runs at 1080p but apparently as they use diffrent panel suppliers only some will be i was lucky, you may be too!

and the picture quality is better than my Sony 40" KDL40U2000 honest!, i cant recommend this TV enough, only problem was i had one stuck pixel that i cant unstick no matter what but its right down in the right hand corner and i only see it on black scenes (stuck green).

and @ cicobuff, having enhancement technology is just on chip software and sure it works good from major brand as they invest in it but soetimes budget brands get it right too, after all you can have LG`s XD technology in budget TV`s but always the licencing deal wont let them use the techname.

But thats the point, the budget brands don't get it right, I don't know any budget brands that list the technology used for picture enhancement, do you? Can you name me one budget manufacturer that utilised any major brands enhancement technology under their own name?

Budget TVs invariably have far fewer tweaking options for picture control regarding independent RGB whitepoint/Hue adjustments in the menus that major brands have, surely its better to trust and spend the extra £30 for a brand that does! That chip is after all very important, and so are the menu options for optimising picture quality.

Foehn & Hirsch??? thats such a silly made up name trying to sound like a quality European brand like Bang & Olufsen!

they recently changed all their sat navs to this made up name as well. Daft.

why not just admit they are far eastern and cheap!
#25
Foehn & Hirsch i think it means mickey mouse in a different language
#26
Cold. Foehn & Hirsch! ? :whistling:

Bought a Samsung 32" from DELL for £298 incl. p&p and £15 quidco.
#27
Cold like a freezer, wouldn't touch a cheap and not so cheerful TV with a bargepole

Hmmm, you're not quite understanding the long distance sellers act there..

You have 7 days in which to decide if you want to keep the item, and if you do not want to keep, you send back (at your own expense) .

It's an entirely different situation. Providing replacements for faulty goods within certain timeframes I believe is down to the manufacturer.

Actually I think its down to the retailer under sales of goods act 1979 isn't it? Hence why people outside of warranties have been claiming against retailers on goods that are deemed to have a life expectency of over warranty periods, providing you can prove the goods are inherently faulty on purchase the onus is on the retailer you bought from to either provide a repair or replacement or part refund for the goods.

In any case, faulty goods upon receipt should be replaced, not offered for repair, that is abysmal customer service, regardless if I am wrong on the 7 day distance selling regulations, I would have told them where to shove the goods and made them pay for the return costs.

Then they are in breach of sale of goods act. Insist on a refund.

Hi

My 2 tv's arrived yesterday as promised..........

Unboxed and installed both - they look very similar to Samsung tv's gloss black casing - very nice.

Both work perfectly - seem to have an excellent freeview tuner installed - pulling in more channels than my set top box - also analogue pictures are superb (i have rf distribution system so this is important to me).

Very impressed for the price.

Foehn also means 'hairdryer'. Draw your own conclusions.

I already have this tv, it's got very good picture and build, very happy with it.
Would definitely recommend :)

Great price for a budget TV, design looks very similar to the Samsung R88 series of TVs, without the badge i'd actually think it was
