HD detail like youve never seen before
High Definition is the greatest advancement in television technology since black and white changed to colour.
A TV bearing the HD Ready logo has the ability to display High Definition broadcasts of 720 or 1080 lines, as opposed to standard broadcasts of 625 lines. The detail HD delivers is staggering. A HD screen contains more pixels which allows you to see every blade of grass, every thread, every feather in crystal clear clarity.

FREEVIEW included
All Tevion HD TVs now include built-in Freeview, which means you will have a greater number of Digital channels (and radio programmes) to choose from, in an instant. Plus, thanks to the RED button facility, you can interact with your TV, actually taking part in the programme youre watching.

Got this before XMAS, last time Aldi were doing them. You'd better be there early as they go fast. Nearly a fight in my local!
#3
dont know much about tvs. Is this tv any good, its the cheapest ive seen it
#4
Well it is a better spec than the one sold at Christmas (1 HDMI and no Freeview)

Not a bad set for under £400 but don't try watching TV close up as it will look terrible.

I'm quite tempted to take mine back and get them to exchange for one of these as mine has 2 or 3 dead pixels :whistling:

Tevion oh yes that famous household name? :giggle:

I've 2 Tevion LCD TV's both been excelent. 3 year Guarantee. One still with a year left the other a bit more. Picture great.
#8
I'd rather get a brand for that price. Richer sounds are doing an Hitachi at £399.95 - 32" LCD HD ready, no freeview though:

Wow, can you remember where you saw them? I'd like an LCD TV but I'm not in a hurry and I'm prepared to wait for the prices to keep falling, but at that price I might be tempted to get one now :)

Over a tevion? Has the world gone mad?
#15
the world is deff mad if people out there think Hitachi is a BRAND!!! :-)

Next he'll be defending Skoda for quality workmanship under VW.... ;-) This man obviously knows quality.
#16
I think I may be finally getting into High Def :)
#17
Lets put this telly into perspective. For £389 your getting a 32" lcd, with freeview, two hdmi ports and a 3 year guarantee!! Tell me whats wrong with this set? Its just brand snobbery.
I actually have a skoda and its a fantastic car, far better than the 3 series i traded in for it. It costs a damn sight less on the upkeep too.
#18
think i will get one of these then, i will send the oh out early on sunday morning to get one
#19
I bought a Tevion portable from Aldi about 8yrs ago and its still going strong!!
#20
You won't necessarily have to wait until Sunday 13th.

In my local Aldi - Milton Keynes - there was a pallette of these 32" £389.99 TVs next to the checkouts TODAY with perhaps just one missing at midday today Thursday 10th May - ie premature given that Sunday 13th is meant to be their sale day.

It MAY just be MY Aldi that has put them out early in breach of company policy, but suspect that as the last 40"+ didn't sell very well (they were still advertising it in papers earlier this week!) they are attempting to make sure this lot stand as much chance as possible of selling. Mind you my Aldi ALSO put out some Sunday Gardening stuff on the previous Thursday last month.

So if you do fancy it with its 3yr warranty it MAY be worth getting to your local Aldi BEFORE Sunday - and if in Milton Keynes, definitely TODAY+ !

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Hitachi don't make TV's any more, they just re-badge stuff, usually cheap nasty stuff.:whistling:
#22
I dont know if to buy one or not, i dont really care about the brand. But it seems a good price
#23
Can you tell me if you can get a wall bracket for this TV:santa:
#24
I am interested in this tv, can someone who has purchased it tell me what the picture quality is like (with non HD feed) and also what the overall width is, it needs to fit in an alcove, no dimensions on Aldi site.

I want it as a second set, with a sky plus box attached but with posssibility of connecting another HD box at a later date.

Thanks.
#25
The overall width is 31" and the picture quality is very good.
I have brought one this morning and I am really pleased with it. A bargin for £389.99.
Just need a suitable wall bracket, if any one could let me know, where to get one.

I wouldnt bother with the tevion one when you can have this........

http://www.techfever.co.uk/products.asp?partno=6438

Yes it might lack a couple of HDMI's and the freeview, but its a damn sight better looking. I bought one when it was £415 and it was a bargain then, so at £364.46 delivered, its an absolute steal!!!!!!

Fantastic quality TV, with a 3 year warranty.

Dont forget about £10 quido too!

In your opinion, I think it is ghastly.
#31
The pictures on their web page df the Mirai dont do it justice. It is much better looking in real life.

Mirai are known for their computer monitors, and make the components in many other branded screens. They get very highly rated recommendations on the Av Forums.
#32
I'd put money on most people having a CRT in their house that beats this thing hands down. I can't see it being better than the AOC 32" set which got sent back within hours for that very reason

My mate has one, it looks ghastly in my opinion.

i got this telly, i think its good, the only problem people seem to have is with the brand, why pay hundreds more for a brand.
#35
The reason is because the Tevions are well known for poor picture production when up scaling Standard definition. This is why folks pay more for Samsung, Sony or Panasonic LCD's, because they have far better chips inside them.
#36
i bought a 32" bush for £250. has built in freeview and has warranty. great tv and cheap to.

It ain't the brand you pay for, its the expertise that the brand brings.

Tevion are poor at what they do. Heck they spent over a year badging sets as HD-Ready without meeting any of the requirements to badge them so!
Im not even sure they've stopped doing that tbh, last i heard it was still going on!

You don't get that sort of dodgy dealing with a Toshiba or Panasonic set. You also get better parts in the better sets with better picture processing and a more stable image

Im not saying there aren't any good budget sets out there, i've seen some cracking ones! But you do get what you pay for.

EDIT: This post pretty much summarises why i wouldn't touch Tevion with a barge pole: http://www.avforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1782853&postcount=904

Don't get sucked in by the warranty - My parents have a Tevion 17" TV purchased a few years ago and the picture totally sent - After hours trying to get through to customer support they agree to an exchange.

4 weeks later and a 17" computer monitor turns up!
