Great deal and only 10 mins away for me to pick up
#2
How big's the engine? Oops thought they only sell cars!
#3
cracking deal is that one, 15 minutes away from picking one up. Thanks to OP
#4
Just noticed its not HDMI, still not a bad deal though
#5
good price though in fairness you would never get £344 for this (especially without hdmi) not with quality brands with high contrast ratio etc at that price... but for £200 it is a good deal
#6
23ms response time no thanks lol
#7
Why is it showing up as £344.99? Link
#8
Hmmmm, am thinkning about this, would it be any good for my 360?

Mike..

Crikey... 23ms resposnse!!????
No HDMI?
No freeview?

Cheap and a good brand, but no thanks...

No voted cold though...
#10
Does anyone know what the quality of this tv is like and if it is wall montable?

thanks (very HOT!)
#11
Got it now thanks!

Tis a very a good deal but pretty low spec TV.
#12
hang on its analogue and not digital.........so maybe not so hot?
#13
is this going to be any good for a sky (non HD) box and a DVD player?
#14
guys if this is really 23 ms response time then quick movement in tv programs, games and movies will have trails.

this is a poor television in my honest opinion

With adaptors you could just add freeview or sky so doesnt matter that its analogue
#16
u must be mad to buy this

go to Martin Dawes and get a 32inch tubed tv for £50 , it will do the same as this pile of junk
= £150 odd saving
#17
23ms response time and no HDMI.... this must be pretty old stock.

Not bad if you wants something for very basic TV viewing but I'd spend the extra on something with specifications that are a little more post-2007.

It's a Hyundai - it's going to rust and fall apart
#20
I am diappointed with Scan trying to con people with this high RRP - they shd change their name to Scam
#21
we have the 20" model of this tv bought about 4/5 years ago (for about £400) its a good solid no frills tv the only drawback is no sky remote code. good bedroom tv

one of the kids uses it in her bedroom
#22
bought a 42" hyundia tv,,,they take your money ,but when it breaks down in three months ,they wont fix and you cant get hold of anybody to fix ,then told to contact hyundia, you call france ,belgium,japan,usa....no repair, bin material.......their tv lasts less time than there cars.....
#23
I haven't seen this in action but looking at the spec I'd say avoid like the plague. It is £200 for a reason. If you have £200 save another £100 and bag yourself a much better HD Ready tv. I can't believe that anyone can be happy buying this at just over £200 when the Sony Bravia kdl32v4000 could be had for £299 over xmas.
#24
Absolutely terrible TV.Would be MUCH better off with a cheap 2nd hand CRT TV. The picture quality is almost unwatchable.
And regardless of the resolution, it's non-HD.

Couple that with the awful response time and you have a rather large £201 paperweight.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money go for a smaller LCD TV or get a CRT, either would be better than this rubbish.
#25
23ms response time is poor.
Specs aren't good.
Probably why it's so cheap

damn got excited then but it aint HD nevermind..... so back to looking around for me

saw the price and had a look but think I'll wait. Might as well wait and get a HD digital one if going to get a new TV
#29
is 23ms a new record?! wow.
#30
Probably will be sh1t, but if you don't care it's a good price :-D

Price should be £212.74. I am a member of AV Forum and have the correct amount of postings but have never managed to get free postage!

Assuming that this the model HQL320WR, there is a review (2005):
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/i-32,1038-20.html

Conclusion
With its fairly good finish, responsiveness, good black level and low price, this set has a lot going for it. Yet we can't recommend it - at least not for now. It's a little short in the connectivity department to be able to go the distance. Only a YUV connection is available for high definition. We'd have liked to see DVI too, and also HDMI. Then, sound is not its strong point, and that's a handicap for a set in this price range, because purchasers will have to shell out another few hundred for a good speaker kit, whereas sets like the ViewSonic have decent sound built in. We're expecting an updated version of this set shortly, and if it still has the same excellent panel at this price, we may have a future best-seller on our hands. Stay tuned...

My own findings
Pros:
- low energy consumption (140W)
- good blacks
- 2-yrs collect & return warranty
- cheap

Cons:
- no HDMI or DVI
- bad sound
- slow response
- not good for PC use

Because of the low power usage and the long warranty it may be a good bedroom/kids room second set. For this it's hot from me.

PS. is there anyone out there who can explain to me how to get the free postage via av forum?
#32
how about just hooking it up to a small pc/mac mini and running it as a picture frame :) I've seen a few 15" frames going for about £150 :)

You need to go back to the dealer if you don't receive a promised service from the manufactor. You are not expected to phone someone outside the UK for the service (unless it is a freephone service number, which is clearly stated in your warranty documents). If you are not satisfied with your dealer's response, you can ask for your money back through the Small Claims Court and it won't cost you a penny. But get some advice from CAB or Consumer Advice Centre before you make the claim because you need to allow the correct time for your dealer to respond (i.e. 14 days from the point of your demand would be reasonable).

I had a problem with that - I gave the payments number a ring and a helpful chap helped me with it.

Yeah no Freeview, HDMI or any HD connectivity, woefull response time of 23 ms, good price but cold from me as can't think of any future use for it, so meney down the drain IMO

Well - looks like it's sold out now anyway :(
#38
nice looking telly i think.
#39
They must have found a batch of these lying out the back of the warehouse.

The spec is terrible on them and the design is from 2003. Guaranteed poor quality TV by todays standards.

For me its not a bargain to pay this money for a rubbish 32" when another £100 will get you a modern, recognised brand name,
