Where?

They're very reputable, so far as I'm aware.

Ah... maybe a bit of an exageration on my part - one chap in the other thread said he had been waiting 2 weeks or so for his delivery... got the idea that i t was a common problem - will edit description.

PS - Bought this today - will let you know how long it takes to arrive.

After purchasing from them for several years I will never buy from Empire Direct again. Yes, kit is cheap but when you have a problem their service is terrible. Possibly the worse I've encountered. It took me a year to get faulty goods replaced.

Reputable?
Far from being that, be careful
Here's my thread about it:

Thanks - just ordered one instead of the Philips 32" from Richer Sounds. I don't know much about tellies, but RS warned me about the contrast on the Philips. Better contrast and smaller dimensions on the Samsung. The AW10 voucher is still valid, but might expire at the end of today.

Anyone find a review for this TV ?

Just concerned it might not be that good, thus everyone selling at low price.

I dont know about reviews, but if you want my personal opinion, i find the television really good.

I am not technically minded, and i have no idea what 100Hz or the real reason for 1080p is, i dont care, i dont even own the TV i watch, it is the misses'!

Every TV like this can produce a stunning picture, as at 32", unless you intend to go Video-blind by sitting under a metre away.

My probolems with it is that there is a stupid mode on it that makes everything go super-quick and TOO sharp, it looks very un-realistic. It is hard to explain without knowing the technical stuff, but that option can be switched off. I would presume that mode is used for HD, but i have no HD for anything yet.

Another thing, if you are watching golf, football, tennis etc, balls when they travel seem to be 3 of them close together.

1 more thing, when playing the Nintendo Wii, there is a massive delay with the picture feed and the music, which the two are not in sync anyways, so doing a calibration lag for GHIII for instance is useless.

As i said, my view is from someone who is not THAT technically minded, and cant be arsed to spend more than 30 mins setting up a TV for a perfect quality.

And bang goes another £350.......oh well after that ebuyer trouble and their "deal" for 2 faulty TV's maybe I should heed the warnings next time.. hot. hot, ow my fingers:thumbsup:

Hey thanks for that, if what you say above is true, i would be concerned, especially now that i have ordered one !:?! I'd have expected no lag or shadow issues from this, a new model. I'll be plugging my 360 in and also my HD drive and id expect nothing less than a sharp lagless picture or i will be sending it back.

I wouldnt worry to much. Some1 states on AV foums they used R87 settings to tweak picture quality: http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=513376

I expect specific settings for this TV will be posted once more people get it.

The specified contrast ratio doesnt mean anything, it certainly wont tell you the contrast ratio.

I'm not sure if they only match high street prices, but if they would match it would be £399 not the discounted (using vouchers) price.
#35
Quidco tracked already and delivery all confirmed so less than £350 o/a - even the wife's convinced - that took some doing!!!:-D
#36
