There's a long thread over on the avforums about this tv:

Does anyone know how long the warranty is for this? Thank you :)

With an expire date of Feb 08 it was auto expired ;-)
Date adjusted, unexpired

is it worth buying? i'm not up to date on this HD stuff. I need it for my PS3, will it be better than a normal TV?

I can't see the reviews from avforums but practically any HDMI will be an improvement over a normal crt tv...

Oh no! Technosonic are the pits + refurb x not even cheap = requires wide berth!

Hi

If this is the Technosonic that Woolies were doing for £399.99 a while back its actually a re-badged Thomson.

If you peel the Technosonic badge off the bottom of the remote a Thomson logo is revealed.

I bought one at £399.99 and its brilliant - there were some probs with HDMI and PS3 but i guess that was resolved in the refurb.

Its a wide beast as the speakers are stuck to the side.

But brilliant pic - matt screen so no sun reflection - remote a bit small and fiddly but a good all rounder I think !

Hi again,

i can't find much on the spec of this TV.. is it 720 or 720p? is it worth it? i'm well unsure!
#11
30 days rtb warranty! can they do this? I want one but 30 days! Does anyone know if credit card will pay back if it breaks?

I agree with Whiteswan...I also bought the Technosonic from Woolies last year..It's BRILLIANT..I wish I'd bought another one.
#13
I really want one too, but only a 30 day warranty! :x

credit cards will only Chargeback/Dipute if goods are not received in good condition or the product does not do as it was advertised,

you may have an option for extended warranty though so worth checking this with your card company.

Ultimately I want to know is this worth buying & taking the risk with a 30day warranty. Agreed, £230 for a 32" LCD is BRILLIANT...but will it die a death in 2 months time leaving me & others 'up the creek without a paddle or warranty!' lol

Im in the same predicament. from what ive read its a THOMPSON with some stickers on, was £399 in woolworths not so long ago. have you seen the massive thread on av forums posted by another member? just hate to think it might break down but then again it might fall of the wall after a few months... now wheres my insurance policy:whistling:

Ive also got one from woolworths and i use it with the xbo 360 and its brilliant, but to be completely honest the HANNSPREE 32 inch looks better and the build quality is a million times better than this one but still for the money its brilliant.
#18
what would this be like as a monitor using hdmi with a hdmi gfx card?

surely worth a punt for a bedroom?

Mere 30 days !!
#20
I would steer well away from this. Only 30 days warranty? Pshhh!
#21
Yeah, not gonna get one cause of the stupid warranty. :x
#22
not to mention the fact they've obviously gone wrong once already hence the refurb.... still tempted though
#23
I know the feeling, really tempted!

there is a very limited amount of info on this TV online.. anyone else got this? what are your views of it? worth the money? esp with a 30day money back thingy

You can also use the soga with your credit card company though (as they are jointly liable with the retailer), as you would be able to with bigpockets if this failed within the time you would reasonably expect a £230 refurbished tv to last. I would certainly argue that would be more than 30 days.

Remember folks,
normally you get what you pay for...

OK now i'm even more confused..

I have a Sony VGN-AR41s laptop, it is full HD 1080 with a HDMI port.

does anyone out there know for sure if i can connect my PS3 using a HDMI Cable and play on my PS3 (using the Laptop as a screen). i have for hours exhusted Google and its bugging me. i know the easiest answer is to try it by buying a cable but.. the tv might go out of stock by tomorrow.. could really use the assistance..

thank you for taking the time to read this.. :)
#28
if it's HDMI in then I don't see why not.

I'm assuming that your laptop has HDMI out.

230 pages?!??!

Anyone able to summarise?

Seems like there are problems with panel reliability and electronics on these.

This Hanspree 37" screen is only £120 more with a 2 year guarantee and you can get other smaller screens for less too.

http://www.intekx.com/product_info.php?cPath=26&products_id=197

This 26" AOC is only £279 with 2 year guarantee.

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/134824

32" from Ebuyer at £299

Why pay £229 for a piece of cr*ap - especially when Bigpockets have so little confidence in it that they only guarantee it for 30 days:p

Avoid like the plague!

Thank you cheapskate58  Think I'll go for one of those instead.

No, if it had hdmi IN then you could have, as it's only an output, you could connect it to a hdtv

Lol i just found out.. went a bought a bloody cable this morning b4 work. then dashed home at lunch only to find that it doesn't work! oh well.. guess i might just go for one of them hanspree tvs. there is too many bad reviews of this technosonic one. £110 more will get me a 37in hanspree model which looks good and has good feedback + 2 year warrenty
#39
Extended (12 months total) warranty option now added:thumbsup: £39.99:thinking:
